There was a post in another thread with these guesses, based on the email content from GOG. I haven't gotten the email yet myself, it usually arrives when any given sale is about half over.

And I don't recall signing up for the sale emails, I assumed it was automatically done when I joined GOG. Not sure why they always show up so late here.

Ah found it in account settings there is 1 box for releases and 1 for deals.
And maybe you need a time machine for that. :p
