Looks like it's going to be headbutting from here on out for whatever the issue is they're having.

It seems to have started the moment their Origin thing got released. What exactly the problem is is hard to describe but supposedly it has something to do with delivery of DLC's.

Not that they weren't already kind of sticking it to Steam to begin with with DA2 when it only got released there one day after the whole 'Get ME2 with DA2 purchase now' promo ended.

I'm guessing they changed something fundamental in the way they want to connect people to their DLC when they relaunched their EADM to Origin and it's conflicting with Steam's wishes in that regard. I can see that possibly having been a conscious choice on EA's behalf. It's a good excuse to pull back your own games from your main competitor.

This'll be interesting to follow :)

It's not a huge loss. It's a decent game and all, but not by anymeans great.
And what I have watched ea origin site, it sells games with a hefty price. Too hefty.

Edit: And sims.. I mean, still people buy those. Why? I thought when first sims was released that people would get bored rather quickly. I was really wrong.

I bought the Sims 3 complete pack with the Summer sale. Great franchise imo :)

And yeah, for me as a European the Origin store is a horrible alternative. It's always had high prices. Heck, I preordered ME3 there because it was 50% off at Easter and I still kind of regretted it (not my desired service) because it's really not *that* much cheaper as the full price in dollars ... A small sale and it's already equal.

Meh. It's not like people who already bought the game lose their copies, and there are still plenty of other places you can purchase it from.

As for The Sims, I like that series. Though I don't really own any expansions, The Sims 3 is a fun game.

I still think EA is shooting themselves in the foot with this crap, but its their loss, not mine. Steam will always be my first place to go to for cheap sales on newer games with GoG being right behind it (cheap old games). I dont think Origin is going to get very far, EA dont have the library for it, they dont support their older titles with Origin so i know they wont sell them on Origin and they definitely do not have the cheap prices people are used to with Steam. So all in all, i think this just hurts potential future customers, as for DA2 getting pulled, dont really give a rats ass. Im pretty sure those that wanted it have already bought it and word of mouth will keep others from diving head first into the toilet that is DA2.

Origin is going to be profitable to them because they look at it as a long time thing. In the next years EA is gonna release a lot of games and Origin will be the only digital store to get them probably so they will be profiting from this. IMO not very profitable right now maybe but profitable in the long run.

Didn't really plan to attack all the people who likes sims. =) But perhaps things are a bit evolved since first sims. I make "myself" there and get a job and shower. Could in sims 1 even leave the house?
And myself I pretty much got nothing in real life, so I could try that sims 3. But there's so many add-ons that it's sick. Games can be artistic or they can sell a lot. Or perhaps both.
Has the sims-games an ending? Well, propably then when you die in constipation.
They buy good developers and we are forced to pay the price. It's wrong I tells ya.
Ea is like a bum with lot's of refundable cans.. They can buy anything. But they also they seem to destroy everything that was good. I like the times when ea was mostly known from hockey games or something like that.

And edit: EA didn't even give us pc players one lousy fight night boxing.

I think the more pressing question is when/if DA1 gets pulled. I'm thinking that its only saving grace is that they are no longer publishing DLC for it (I think).

Only thing I'm really concerned with is the Sims, because I absolutely love the single installer Steam has for it. I still remember the horrors of installing the Sims 2 collection near the end, it discouraged me more than once from installing all of it again. With Sims 3 on Steam, no matter how many expansions they make, it's as simple as installing any other game.

If anything they should do the same on Origin.

Well.. Depends in what country you are living. Buying any original games from anywhere but Steam or GoG is too much expensive in Brazil. The only way we can buy original games without expending more than R$150 (That is almost US$99 per game) is Digital Media, and even for Brazil Standarts EA Origins is... Expensive as hell... So yeah, to me and a lot of people it's a great loss.
