Steam is selling the Killing Floor Bundle for under $8 this weekend... which includes all (I think) of the DLC.

I've been playing some RPGs, RTSes, and Civ 5 a lot lately and I wouldn't mind having another crazy shooter to play with over the holidays. Does anyone recommend it?
i recommend it. it is fun, it is updated freely(the dlc are skin packs), maps are plentiful and the community is better than l4d series

plus, the british accent

I actually just got around to installing it a few nights ago.

It play a lot like Left4Dead. If you are expecting CoD or BF fps play, don't bother.

Here are some notes for you:

-There is no true single player aspect. It is a multi-player only game. So single players = you alone killing waves of enemies.

-There are no crosshairs. You have to rely on using your ironsights to aim. Or know where the center of your screen it.

-Ammo is a resource in this game. You can't go all out waste all your ammo and expect to magically find more mid wave, while there is ammo pickups that you can get they only provide you with a limited amount(usually 1 magazine)

-Body armour is your friend, get this as soon as you can

-Everyone can heal, medics just do it the best.
I've played it over a year ago, but I liked it very much. It is differnent from L4D2, as you have less enemies, but those are stronger. Also, the shooting is more "realistic". (Iron sights, spread, etc.)

The community was good back then, no dicks or idiots if you just randomly dropped in.

It's F2P this weekend, give it a spin. It was great for the occasional round (which takes between 5 - 15 minutes,)
Killing Floor is great. I personally find it to be much better than Left 4 Dead. The shooting is much more satisfying, with the monsters head hitboxes the size of my monitor.

Also, theres like, 70 billion maps. I'm always playing on new maps.
I don't know if I recommend the DLC, but 5 bucks for the game is a great deal.
I like the DLC nothing says badass more than a priest running around blowing the heads off of things.
I'm trying to heal ye, not to shag ye.
Dosh!

Oooh, a new set of seasonal achievements! I wonder if the new character pack will be free for getting a few of them.

baddest santa is last christmas character. if you complete the new set of achievments you'll get commando chicken skin
orly?
Steam is a liar, liar, pants on fire than it says you get the Santa one. Ah well. Command Chicken sounds cooler.
Killing Floor is great in short bursts with friends, plus it's the only zombie-themed dosh simulator.

Cash here, grab it all!

Actually you can get both. If you unlock last Christmas achievements then you get Baddest Santa and if you unlock the new Christmas achievements you get the chicken.
Killing Floor is a good MP game but a little repetitive because there is only one game mode. I play it from time to time but what makes me stop playing it is that leveling up your perks is too slow. For example, the higher levels of the Sharpshooter perk require more headshots than I've ever done in my whole lifle across every FPS I've played. Maybe I just suck at FPSs though.
i used to play it before i had l4d. It's kind of fun for a while but i enjoy l4d way more. And the monster design is really bad, like really really bad, that's what keeps me from going back to it, i just can't stand how those monsters look.

Well, you don't have to play as a sharpie to score headshots. I got to level 3 medic, never playing the class, simply by healing people in need.
