I'd say almost as good. There are some things it does better (the stat system allows much more flexibility in character development - in DD warriors pretty much all ended up with 2 parts strength, 2 parts agility and 1 part constitution; there are many more viable builds for warriors in BD), and some not so much (the design of some of the skills is more complex than it needs to be, though it is easy enough to avoid that).
