Gersen: They don't...at least they are pretty stupid in the hardest difficulty but I haven't played on Normal to know if they are any dumber.

The AI in Deus Ex Human Revolution is neither smarter on hard difficult setting, nor more stupid on normal or easy difficult setting. It's the same for all difficult settings. The only difference on hard is the absence of the aiming dot and that Jensen has less hit points and dies faster. That's all that's to it. I play the game for the third (or fourth, don't know exactly) time now and have played it on normal and am currently playing on hard (“Give me Deus Ex”).

doady: It's sad how modern games are judged based on their length. If Super Metroid for example were made today it would probably have something like a 30% rating on Metacritic (Metacritic itself being another stupid aspect of modern gaming). Personally, I favour of quality over quantity.
I don't think length is usually an overriding factor, but if I'm paying full price for something it better be more than a few hours. That's not a game, it's a diversion. :--)
Does this game have modding capabilities? I hope a modder comes out to make combat harder, because right now there's no challenge to it.

Turn off all the lame hand-holding markers. It's easier to appreciate the game that way, and you also extend the game time for yourself. One might argue it's an artificial means of extending game time, but I call bollocks on that. If you pay attention to notes and conversations, it's not hard to find your way around. The game accommodates both groups of players well enough.

Good idea. When I get it I'll have to remember that.
There's one thing that annoys me so far, but it's kind of minor:

I hate how the loudspeaker messages loop endlessly. Hearing them once or twice is good enough, no need to keep replaying them.
Dishonored is really making me want to finally play through Thief 1. Perhaps I'll do that once I've finished the game.

So are people playing with or without objective markers? I've decided to turn them off, and find that the game usually gives you most of the information you need to navigate to objectives without them. Have you run into any situations where it's obvious the game expects you to have markers on?

marcusmaximus: The guards won't notice when one of them is missing but on the harder difficulties unlike Deus Ex human Revolution the AI supposedly gets smarter.

One of the thing this game definitely has over Deux Ex HR though is that it doesn't have the dumber that words take downs, it does have sort of "take-downs" but unlike the HR ones you are not indestructible, invisible and not making any noise while doing them, you don't switch to third person and you can abort them in the middle (for the non lethal ones at least).
I simply like not having to take a candy par or magic potion as often cause of the knocking an enemy out taking off at least 20 percent of my magic bar.
