Tarm: That's evil. You could help her you know. ;)

JudasIscariot: She probably had to get the VCR to stop flashing 12:00 back in the day too, I bet :P
You had to be a bloody engineer AND programmer to get one of those old evil machines to work as you wanted.

True. Press tiny button four times then press another tiny button seven times while pressing two other tiny buttons and wait for a --.----..-.-...- sequence of flashing digits. if it didn't flash in the correct sequence try again. Now press the first tiny button until you have the correct hour. Now do the same thing but in reverse for minutes.

Sounds no worse than this one Skoda that I had to reset the oil change counter on. I think I ended up having to hold three errrr swively things WHILE swiveling them and pressing them at the same time...screw that nonsense...

Yeah and that's one of the 1,000,000 reasons why I don't wish to be a mechanic. EVER.
Wow... what an active forum.. Thanks for all the thoughts.

I e mailed them on Tuesday. And again, yesterday. I was aware of the time frame difference, but I thought they might reply to the Tuesday request by now...

Checked the forums before I posted and found others with this issue. I've tried the suggestions I read, but no luck.

Having played this game many time... the disc version, I know I'm where I'm supposed to be..at the proper month. Neither Bootleg, Darkmoor or Blackshire work. I picked up Nickoli in Blackshire but didn't check the tents at that time. Now, none of the areas work. And he's home with Papa... so...

Installed the disc version and all is fine. I was just wondering why it wasn't working and if I could do anything to fix it since the GOG version handles Vista better than the disc version does....

PS... where are the GOG .. save games saved. I looked for, but can't find the usual game folders.

Thanks

If they are not in usual place (<game folder>\saves) then you probably have User Account Control (UAC) enabled on Vista. It essentially creates the backup folder to prevent any changes to the monitored locations, in that case Program Files folder

Try looking there:
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\GOG.com\<game_folder>

Wouldn't it be in the VirtualStore folder?

Yes it would -__-'. Thank you, I never use UAC and keep forgetting the proper path.
