I've been following this game for quite a while, and the English version is due sometime next month. http://www.cryostasis-game.com/flash/?lng=
It's shaping up to be one hell of an action game. In fact, in one of those NVIDIA PHYSX Power Packs, they have a tech demo for it, and the water effects are absolutely amazing.
It looks like it could be a great deal of fun but I think we might need to wait for some futuristic hardware to come out to run the damn thing at a respectable framerate on minimal settings.
Hey! Thanks for the info. I haven't heard anything about this game before, but after looking at screenshots I'm interested. Looks like it could be fun for horror fans like me :)
I have been following the game since the summer of 2008. I thought the tech demo they put out was pretty good but didn't show enough game play. I hope they release a demo for it. It looks to have a lot of potential to it.
Also, if you can't wait a month or two for the English release, you could hunt down a Russian copy and download the English subtitle and menu patch that a couple of people from their forums put together. And if you're really desperate, you can take the somewhat shadier route, though I wouldn't advise it, since this is not some giant team and they need all the support they can get.

Yeah I would never advise the shady route. Myself, I am in no rush for this game. I have many games to beat right now so when a game gets delayed or has a while until release I never get bothered because I am always busy beating something else in the meantime.

You could always take the shady route and support them when you can actually buy it.
Yet another damn FPS.....I would act surprised but I am not a good actor.
Can we get something OTHER than another possibly mindless FPS?
Of course this opinion is based on the initial screenshots but based on the description of the game it's looking like just another run of the mill FPS.

It sounds and looks like a survival-horror/adventure/FPS. At any rate I'm getting it if they can optimize it some more.

Yeah, I tried doing that, actually, but I suck at mounting and all that crazy bullcrap. It's probably a whole lot easier for me to just wait it out.
Also, I got the subtitle wrong. It's Cryostasis: Sleep of Reason. I hope this game does well, since it is an independent venture, and whenever it does come out in English I will be the first in line to buy it from a brick-and-mortar or online retailer.

I don't want to jinx it but... any word on DRM?
What's up with websites that are essentially just a huge Flash applet? I seriously get frustrated with that crap. The devs could've made the awesomest game in existence, but I'd never know since I don't have the patience to deal with the crazy animations and loading pauses to get to the screenshots. :P

There's an HTML version. Should be a link to it somewhere on the Flash site.
Just noticed from the gameplay videos that it looks A LOT like the underground segments of the original STALKER. Except cold. And water physics.
505 Games announced that it is releasing icy survival horror Cryostasis, fast-paced monster FPS NecroVisioN and World War II strategy title Men of War under the 1C Company label on Feb. 20, 2009 in Europe.
Great news, I want to play Cryostasis. Also I am waiting NecroVisioN. It is coming from Painkiller series' developers.
