xa_chan: Because here is not a public forum (there is no designated moderator) but a private one, and on a private forum, owners of the forum are free to do whatever they want without warning. It's the rule.
And while I always find it sad when somebody is banned, you played too much with fire and GOG didn't want to bother with keeping what was worth it (and there was a lot) and deleting what was not (and there was also a lot), so they chose to wipe you entirely.
kittykat: XA, stop being blind about what's going on here & acting the part of a mod apologist already. Thing is, they can do what they want, but banning and clearing someone's account for doing nothing is a load of crap and you know it. If it were you or one of your friends here i'm guessing you wouldn't have such an opinion, but because it's me it's ok?
Also yes they can be unfair and all, but it will lose them customers in the end, as they ban more and more people they don't like.......how is that preferrable to a regular modded forum? Is it because it's the most convenient for you?
Oh, I'm not saying mods were right or wrong in banning people, and frankly, I don't care AT ALL. I was just explaining that they had every right to do whatever pleased them, whether it is wrong or it is right.
And honestly, if they ban me from the forum but I keep all my bought games, I couldn't care less... I'll certainly pass for a grumpy old geezer, but the "classy community" that was GOG went downhill when they thought it would be a good idea to do a PR stunt about GOG definitely closing. Oh yeah, it created the buzz, but it also irremediably splitted the community between those who were mad at GOG for such a trick and those who found it funny.
From then, trolls and unpolite people multiplied on the forum and one can't say that GameRager was the nicest addition to the community in his first months here
Maybe this ban-rush will make GOG lose customers, yes. Who care, as long as they remain in operations? And if not, well, too bad, but at least their games are DRM-free so you just have to download them and if GOG goes bankrupt you still can play them.
So all in all, this is much ado about nothing.
