New Games, New OSes, Cyberpunk® Announcements, and Something Special for Witcher 2 Modders--and more!--will all be announced at this live webcast Special Event.

The developers of The Witcher franchise CD Projekt RED studio and GOG.com the DRM-free, digital distribution platform will host a Special Event on the 18th of October at 18:00 (GMT). The whole event will be streamed online on facebook.com/thewitcher or www.gog.com.

During the conference the developer studio will announce the official name of their futuristic new IP, based on the classic pen & paper RPG Cyberpunk®. More exclusive details about the project will be shown.

Not only console and PC users should tune in for the conference. Mac Computer users should be prepared for a bunch of thrilling announcements including more information about the upcoming release of The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings for OS X.

Speaking of new operating systems, GOG.com will also be announcing that it is bringing the best PC games from throughout history to a new operating system. That’s not all of the news that GOG.com has planned for the Special Event, however: they will also be showcasing several new releases as well as giving gamers a unique chance to get some of the greatest classic games ever made for a literally unbeatable price.

Remember – the live stream from the CD Projekt RED and GOG.com Special Event starts October 18th, 18:00 (GMT). See you then!
I think I've heard that from two EA guys already, the first time it was only about Wing commander expansions, but maybe it was the same guy?

But thanks for clearing that up.

TheEnigmaticT: Everyone in EA doesn't say that. One guy says that. And I have no idea who he's talking to, but he's not talking to the same people we're talking to.
Start talkin to the people he's talkin to and get the people you're talkin to to talk to the people he's talkin to so everyone is talkin to each other!

As far as I remember It's one guy who posted from time to time hints on his twitter account and did also a podcast talking about that and how the big companies work regarding legal stuff. I did not check what he was or is doing regarding ea, but as far as I remember someone wrote he worked for Bioware and so I can't understand why his comments create such big waves everytime.

Again, I don't know how he is connected to ea, but it should be clear that any who is responsible never would talk about legal stuff like he did.

THIS. :P

He said that EA lawyers cleared that.

1. Make him to talk with people you're talking to
2. Make their lawyers to talk with them
3. ????
4. Profit!

:P

Ah, good to know, thanks. Still I miss the connection to EAs legal department.

Am I the only one who remembers about EA expansions that everybody in EA says they're greenlit and sent to GOG and GOG remains silent or says "we don't know anything about it" ?
Dotting those Ts and crossing those Is takes a LOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time, donchakno?
Then the lawyers have to get involved, to double, and triple-check everything, then the lawyers for the lawyers have to double check to make sure, then CDP-GOG have to earn enough money to pay off all those lawyers.....

UNBULLABUL!
Lone3wolf, I'm bringing that up, because "that dude" said they already cleared that with their lawyers.

But from what T says, you could say that this dude is insane.
Hope one announcement is that Klei Entertainment has signed on to GOG. They make some really great side scrolling games and with Mark of the Ninja coming I would love to have that on GOG.
I will be very disappointed if CDProjekt use the Cyberpunk license to disregard the PnP rules and make a first-person or over-the-shoulder shooter with "RPG-elements"

That would be so awesome.
DRM-free AND multiplatform? Wow...

It would be a milestone and a big damn plus to provide some (humble bundle games, dosbox, etc) Linux support since there already are some services that sell mac games (but not all of them are drm-free).
This will be another landmark for us goggers, that's sure.
Maybe they'll start putting original DOS installers into their DOS game releases.
...as that new OS support :p
