If it's Windows 8, I'll piss myself laughing.

TheJoe: No, unfortunately it's either Mac or a silly way of getting us excited about official Windows 8 support.
On one hand Windows 8 support will be nice for the people who will flock to it.

On the other, windows 8 isn't exciting to me.
I hope Windows 8, Linux/Mac(Amiga?) is just going to divide GOG's resources. Not that I have a rush to get Windows 8 yet.

Maybe some details for the Cyberpunk game? Also, what was about it literally unbeatable prices. New price system? A bunch of new old games that can't be found anywhere else? :)
That would be hilarious if it's windows 8. That is a NEW operating system, after all :)

And that would save my wallet too.
WTF are you guys talking about with Windows 8?

Windows 8 isnt much different than Windows 7 under the hood. That's not the announcement.

Any single program that works on W7 will work on W8.

That's what they said about XP and Vista.

XP and Vista were quite different actually, so I don't recall anyone saying that. Vista and 7 is a more proper example, as is 2K and XP

They did? Haha.

Well I've read that Windows 8 is pretty much a new OS, even Windows 7 had data that was originated from Windows 95.

The touch screen stuff with windows 8 also puts me off.

Yeah, that would be quite a PR fail.
The premature reactions are amusing.

And people why GOG didn't announce here earlier LOL. Nothing like weeks of overreactions and wild speculation!

It's mostly about CD Projekt, but like every event also GOG will get some time. As result don't expect big news from GOG. Some of the bigger publishers (atari, ea) will again publish some games at once and GOG will say they now started to support the new releases also for Win8 and will test older games step by step. I doubt they found an easy (less time consuming for testing) and proper way to emulate most games of the catalog via wine for mac or linux, so better don't keep your hopes up for any official linux or mac support.

The only solution I would see is some kind of unofficial support, like linux/mac installers for indie games, zip-files for DosBox/ScummVM games or config files for wine - everything added as a bonus and not officially supported. But reading the last blue postings regarding mac and linux it's maybe not very likely GOG would do this in the near future.

If the new OS is OS X and Linux is not following I'm going to be very disappointed.
Since GOG has no source access for ports I guess they would have to use wine and dosbox and scummVM etc., which are virtually the same on Linux & Mac.
If it's Mac support on GOG, it would make sense to pull The Witcher Mac from Steam and put it on GOG.....Surely?

EDIT: It seems the windows versions of Witcher 1 and 2 are on steam......strange.

Damn, I gotta get my PC build finished in time for this stuff.

In the meantime...
Someone needs to make a version of that meme with one of the GOG staff, I would do it myself but I don't have photoshop and i'm a bit "artistically challenged".
