A "documentary" trailer has been released for the upcoming title Call of Duty Black Ops 2, and it actually has a pretty worrying celebrity in it: Oliver North.

Yea, you are probably right, but long term it does not seem like a wise move. Short term it might generate enough buzz for a few extra sales, but it might also permanently alienate some people.

- that is so old, most gamers wont even know about it. im in my 30s and i barely remember hearing about it, at the time. did study it in college though. how many gamers, playing CoD, are over 35? then again, those same guys wouldnt even know Oliver North, let alone the scandel.

- he is not "seen" as a war criminal in the USA. in fact, WHO is a war criminal from their OWN persective? this is agame made in the US by a US company. home team, muthafuckas! (shady, but true!)


- the main issue *i* remember with all this is that christians are also some serious terrorists. why not focus on THAT issue?



edit/ps- its been a long time since i studied all this... was he ever convicted? or just tried?

I'm a 26 year old Sweden, and I know of him. And not seen as a war criminal? That is pretty worrying. What he did was pretty despicable, considering what the "Contras" were known for doing.
And while it is a game made in the US, it will be sold internationally. It would be stupid of Activision to not take that into consideration.

Are you talking about focusing on that in-game? Because plenty of people have brought this up on various sites around the internet. Abortion clinic bombings, Westboro Baptist Church, Mother Teresa's evil twin, etc. are pretty well known, I'd assume.
