Hello guys,

I posted this earlier on Reddit, but got only one reply. Maybe because it is a bad idea, or maybe because everyone is playing Diablo 3.

I would love to get your input on this.

I am very close to graduating and started thinking about doing a 24h Charity Stream where I play Adventure Games . I am thinking Blade Runner, Gemini Rue, Machinarium, LIMBO, Full Throttle, Monkey Island, etc.

Now, I know adventure games aren't the most 'popular', so I am not sure if this is a good thing to set up.

Do you people think this will attract viewers? Bear in mind, I am not a popular streamer/youtuber like TotalBiscuit or Husky, so 'my name' will draw in 0,0 people.

This is just and idea I am toying with, nothing clear or defined yet. Just wondering if this is something people might be interested in. Maybe it's interesting do only do indie games, or GOG games.

Thanks for the input!

Thanks in advance!
It probably wouldn't work... Maybe if you played RPGs?

Not that big into RPG's myself.

Thanks for the input though. :)

I'm thinking... Something like this may work with older RPGs, Wizardry, Tunnels and Trolls, Albion, Darklands, etc. You would probably gain a decent crowd, and maybe decent donations too.

That was my train of thought for adding older adventure games. Full Throttle, Beneath the Steel Sky, The Dig. They still have a pretty good 'following'.

Yes, but they also have a lot of videos on youtube:) besides, people who still play older RPGs are more likely to be "fanatics", and more likely to donate just for the sake of the site.

Ok, cool. Thanks for your input! :D

I'm just thinking about ideas. Noting decided yet, so thanks for your thoughts. :)
The problem with streaming adventure games is that if you played them, you are pretty bored watching someone else play them, since you already know everything. So unless you are really interesting/entertaining to listen to viewers might get bored and leave.

That was actually my main concern, hence why I am asking people if this is a good idea. :)
So, what's the charity?

No idea yet, just playing with the idea of doing a charity stream. :)
I'd suggest going with a theme. For instance, there was one recently to raise money for the new Jane Jensen games. The person played her GK games to raise money for the kickstart campeign.

There was already significant Jane Jensen buzz to help with this.

Doing a Diablo 2 play-through BEFORE D3 would have been interesting.

Maybe you can think of a theme like these to utiliize existing buzz to help go towards a related event?
