It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Namur: What browser are you using hedwards ? I do remeber you mentioning something about this on another thread.

I'm currently using Chrome to browse the boards ( the site is not playing along nicely with IE9 which would be what i'd normally use), and with Chrome i haven't experienced any trouble with posting.
That's a good point, I probably should have pointed out that it's Firefox 4 on Linux, I've seen it on both 32bit and 64bit versions.

For whatever reason it seems to be a lot more prevalent today, than it has been with most of my posts doing it.

OK, let's try that again, hopefully third time's a charm.
I seem to occasionally get a new reply notification even when the post it refers to doesn't contain a reply to a post I'd made earlier. I've seen it happen twice, one of them was this post, the other I don't remember. As you can see, the linked post isn't even edited at a later point (and I recall the other case was like it, too), so it's not even that the poster made a reply to one of my posts but then edited it out.
Also, my brother (username: fantastic) also reported that he encountered such an occurrence in the current "xyem's weekly giveaway" thread.

Yes, someone blue has said that the quote can be removed and the reply marker still applies.

hedwards, i've been paying attention to my posting in regards to this issue these past few days and none of my posts got eaten. I also haven't seen anyone else mentioning this issue.

Any chance it's something at your end causing this ? A plugin or something like that ? Have you given a different browser a go ?

But that's what's especially confusing: it is NOT an edited post, so there wasn't a reply to my post in the first place. Or do you mean it may occur if someone replies to my post, but then deletes the quote and posts without the quote in it?

Yes. That's by design, not a bug.

I'm sorry mate but this thread is for bugs and stuff related to the website and boards themselves, not for game related problems.

The place to report those issues is in each of the respectve game's specific board.

Yes.
@Namur, Miaghstir
Thanks, that's good to know.

Doubtful, it could be a Firefox specific issue, but I've seen the problem crop up on several independent installs. Several flavors of Linux both x86 and amd64, Windows and some of those installs I hadn't installed any plug ins. In fact the worst case I had involved I definitely hadn't installed any plug ins.

Part of why nobody else is mentioning it is that it's subtle, if you aren't paying attention you're not necessarily going to notice that it didn't post. I know that I didn't notice it until I started specifically checking to see if my posts were posting. Mysteriously enough the thread would reflect the correct posting time, but not contain that last post. Which leads me to suspect that the problem isn't on my end, otherwise the server shouldn't be updating the timestamp and order based upon a non-existent post.

I think that it's fixed now.
