It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

SLP2000: Could anyone confirm it takes so long to drag & drop game cover?
avatar
Stelis: No, for me it is almost instantly.
Depends on the browser and your computer. More precisely, it depends on your speed of Javascript interpretation and dynamic HTML/CSS rendering. Internet Explorer is slow as a dog (and IE 9 doesn't work very well on GOG without compatibility settings that I'm not sure adds many improvements over pure IE8), Firefox and Opera are faster, but on a slow computer you'll be bogged down anyway.

I see, I have FF, but my computer is not fast (Intel Pentium 3.0 GHz, 1 GB ram, Win2000), so this may be it. Well, it's fast enough for me, but not for the modern applications/games ;)

Namur: Edit: When i re-arrange the games back to no spaces i'm only getting an extra empty row, although the cover is placed one slot ahead of what it should, the last cover should be in slot #1 of the last not empty row and instead it goes to slot #2.

If i manually slide it back to slot #1 it will jump to slot #2 on reload.
That's odd. I cannot reproduce this automatic jump...

Yeah, that's probably it, it's incredibly slow on the computer at work (It's a P4, early 64-bit machine, thought I forget what speed it is), but at home with an Athlon 2 X2 it's speedy. Even on my 1.66GHz Atom netbook it's much faster than at work.

Ok, so thank you and Stelis for help. It's was on my mind since the relaunch, and now I know the answer.

Because it probably relates to how many occupied slots you have on the last row with covers on it. I only have one cover. That's probably also why you're getting two extra rows affter you undo the steps you highlighted to add a bunch of extra empty rows, while when i undo those steps i end up with only one extra row.

Which game? Is it the "last one" (by alphabetical order out of all your games)? Does it happen with other games?

For me this happens with XIII (which is last in alpha order for me), but not Vampire,VR Soccer, or Waxworks.

That is, XIII automatically adjusts to have at least one slot between it and the previous game, but ONLY if it's last in the list.

Suppose the following setups (row ends/new rows can be anywhere, they are irrelevant):
[gameA][XIII][space][gameB] - XIII will not move
[gameA][XIII][gameB] - XIII will not move
[gameA][gameB][XIII] - XIII will move and produce [gameA][gameB][space][XIII]
[gameA][gameB][space][XIII] - XIII will not move

Nope, definitely not the last one if they were in alpahbetical order.

Simon II is affected for me as well.

Now, let's try building a list of affected games.

The plot thickens... This is more serious than I initially thought.

I can confirm that the issue doesn't creep up with VTMR as the last cover on the shelf, no jumps

Edit: Obscure does it too. And Hostile Waters. And The Guild.

Jumping games I've found so far:

Neverwinter Nights
Pinball Gold Pack
Pure Pinball 2.0
Simon the Sorcerer 2
Total Annihilition
XIII

And now my shelf went ballistic, throwing games every which way. Excuse me for a few hours while I reorganise it, getting everything in perfect order again.

EDIT: Whew, switching to list mode and back was enough to fix its tantrum. I did not enjoy the prospect of organising 175 games.

Jagged Alliance: Deadly Games is behaving oddly on my shelf. After refreshing the page it's always one space to the right of where I placed it.
Here's the full list of jumping games from my shelf, as well as reported ones. All games in my "owned" list on the community wishlist Google spreadsheet are tested, those not listed in this post are working fine.

Advent Rising
Arx Fatalis
Broken Sword DC
Commandos: Ammo Pack
Dark Fall 2: Lights Out
Duke Nukem 3D
Earth 2160
Enclave
Far Cry
Freedom Force vs The 3rd Reich
Giants: Citizen Kabuto
The Guild (thanks Namur)
Hostile Waters (thanks Namur)
Jagged Alliance: Deadly Games
Betrayal at Kondor Pack (thanks Namur)
Return to Krondor (thanks Namur)
Lords of the Realm
The Manhole
Neverwinter Nights
Obscure (thanks Namur)
Pinball Gold Pack
Pure Pinball 2.0
Simon the Sorcerer 2
Total Annihilition
The Witcher 2 (thanks Namur)
