I'd love to see some board games on GOG such as Chinese Checkers, Checkers and Reversi.

Well, there's Battle Chess and Combat Chess. Chaos Overlords feels a lot like a strategy board game, and FTL is heavily inspired by a board game called Battlestations. A lot of turn-based strategy titles are also quite boardgamey.

As for classic abstracts like checkers, go, etc, it might be hard to justify selling them here, since there are dozens of free versions online already.

Yep, there are probably versions worth paying for, but the bar is quite high. It's a shame that they had to pull Chessmaster.

I would love to get some Risk´y game (aka War in my country).

I think Divinity: Dragon Commander might count, though it's not completely board game it can be played as such it seems.

I'm actually surprised there isn't more digital versions of board games. It lends itself well to the medium; setup time almost nil, clean up nill, can go online for players if none are at ones place, the game can keep track of pieces and implement rules (almost eliminating cheating).

I would absolutely love a video game version of Arkham Horror and D&D Castle Ravenloft that way. Especially if they retained the game board/game pieces/etc. :D

Holy crap. Arkham Horror would be bomb. Keeping track of turns would be amazingly easy. I remember they made an Arkham Horror android and iphone app I think. I kept thinking why don't they just send the whole game into an app/pc game.

Indeed it would, and it is a game pretty much anyone can enjoy be it Lovecraft nuts/Horror fans, board game enthusiasts or people looking to play something different. Plus clean up/set up being nil and as you said keeping track of turns, it would be fantastic. Plus they could include sounds for monsters and whatnot.

You know, I'm sure Fantasy Flight has pretty much decided to not release (or rerelease thank God) expansions (it's been about a year and a half since there was one, and it's speculated if there is one, it would be those custom scenarios they had at some tournaments in a book). The situation is almost begging for it to be made digital.

IIRC Civilisation was based on a board game so anything of Civ heritage on GOG - Alpha Centuri, Call of Power, Colonization etc. have board game roots

The computer version of a board game I'm playing at the moment is Bloodbowl (LE) that should come to GOG!

I think the better bet would be to get Chaos Edition if they were going to put up Bloodbowl since it doesn't have SecuRom unlike the previous versions if the game. That being said I'm not sure how ingrained it is with Steam.

The old HeroQuest board game was made for a number of platforms, DOS among them. That might be cool to have here, although licensing issues might get in the way of that.

Yeah, the friggin' licensing... it's a bummer because both HeroQuest and Space Crusade (known as Star Quest in several countries) were really great, also there was a sequel to HeroQuest at least for DOS that I never got to play. Would be so great to have them here. Oh yeah, also the DOS version of BloodBowl was fantastic, I've played that one a lot (and oddly enough prefer it over the newer adaptations).

Also: If GOG got a version of Risk it would definitely be an instabuy by my brother. ^^
