I don't understand, I don't even really think this is real. There is a part of me that feels like I'm dreaming, and this whole thing is in my head as I type it. I can see my fingers telling you about the Battleship movie. But it still doesn't make sense. This is but a dream, and we the dreamers control the dream right? its a dream? right!?

I have to say... this looks kinda cool. I heard about it a while ago, and thought it was interesting. Trailer came out, I thought, 'man, I have to see this.'

Is Hollywood even being serious anymore? There is literally no reason that needs to have the Battleship name attached, other than for people just to go see this movie "ironically." I just don't get it.

Honestly? I don't either. But Navy vs. Aliens, shit blows up, stupid fun movie, people walk away happy. And you know, as long as we enjoy it, does it really matter if it's called 'Battleship' or 'Captain Howdy's Alien Ass-Kicking Rampage at Sea'? Especially in this case. It's not like they're really bastardizing a video game or a book. It's a board game where all that most people walk away with is thinking 'I got to say "you sunk my battleship!"'

True, I get the whole "unwind watching a stupid yet fun action movie" in fact I enjoy plenty of movies for just that reason. I just don't get the reason behind paying tons of money to get to make a movie with the Battleship license.

I think they wanted to name the movie Battleship... but since a game already exists, they just went with the whole license instead.

Well, like I said, I don't either. I hope CHAAKRaS isn't already taken though.

Not only does the license generate interest in the movie, but it will sell tons of copies of the game. This is a win-win situation for both the movie and the game. Both will make more money than they normally would have.

as much as i love battleship {on the xbla version i was number 1 for 2 months and undefeated out of almost 1000 games{yes im bragging bout battleship hush XD{and yes i know i have an addiction XD}}} wh...why why does this need to be done XD well...if anything there better be a "you sunk my battleship line" -.-; or i is gonna be *puts on shades* sunk with despair

the only thing that makes me slightly interested is Liam Neeson is in it and that is about it

Hopefully this thing will bomb SO horribly that Hollywood drops the incredibly stupid idea of movies with the same name as board games.

Also, I like the part where America decommissioned the last battleship 19 years ago.

The only game-movie I would be interested in seeing is Plants v Zombies.

Hasn't somebody obtained a license to make a movie based on the Rubik's Cube recently?
