JudasIscariot: Along with the other 2 Troika games so that their flawed masterpieces may be preserved for all time.....or however long GOG lasts....

sheepdragon: Already got Temple of Elemental Evil and VTM:B myself, so Arcanum would be interesting to get here.

I own Arcanum... Somewhere. Didn't overly like it but then didn't dislike it either. Anyway on to the reason I "Quoted" you... I thought Troika did Spells of Gold also. I suppose I could google before saying this but I really can't be arsed.
I miss Spells of Gold - It wasn't the greateest game ever and the manual was a steaming pile of incompleteness but it was entertaining. I've lost one of the CDs.

Nope. They made Arcanum, Temple of Elemental Evil and Vampire the Masquerade - Bloodlines, and had started on an unnamed post-apocalyptic RPG before they closed down. Just google it.
EDIT:
A quick google search told me that Spells of Gold was made by Jonquil Software and published by Oxygen Interactive.

Which a quick touch of irony for you.
Troika was founded by the 3 core guys from Black Isle after they got shitcanned by Interplay (just before the release of Fallout 2, no less.)
They name it Troika as it is a Russian (? IIRC) term that roughly means "Three of a kind".
And they only ever produced three games.

JudasIscariot: Grab it here:
http://drog.terra-arcanum.com/highres.html.
Enjoy!

Geez, first Drog released his Unofficial Patches.
Now a high-res mod?
This guy is too much!
Thank you, Drog!
Sweet thanks for the heads up downloaded the high rez now to find the unoffical patch. Always start the game never finished it now i suppose is the time to play.
Now, if only some company could get the Arcanum rights -- like say Bioware, Obsidian, and maybe even BethSoft -- and would make Journey To The Centre Of Arcanum (AKA Arcanum 2).

No.
Just no.
ESPECIALLY not Bethesda.
I do not want to see Arcanum as a Western RPG.
I do not want to see Arcanum as a FPS disguised as an RPG.
I do not want to see Arcanum as an Action RPG.
I do not want to see a modern game company bastardize one of my favorite games of all time, just to make a buck.
@JudasIscariot,thank you for link to this patch.
Time to go and play Arcanum. :)

I do not want to see Arcanum with dialogue written by 12-year olds on quaaludes.
I do not wish to see Arcanum with bloom and crippled AI
I do not wish to see Arcanum with stats that either do nothing, break the game entirely once they are maxed out(see Oblivion and what happens when you reach 100+ in sneak...it becomes like shooting fish in a barrel with a rocket launcher..)

No problem! I like sharing things like this with others because I figure they might not know about it! Enjoy!

Someone might know:
Will Arcanum work on Vista?

Worked fine for me without the fan-made patches....
No problems here either, exept of an unusual cursor behavior... But since it was really cursor ITSELF, therefore sometimes changing its look in a weird way and things like that, it didn't really break the game
is it right that the high res patch is only approx. 1meg in size?
