I'm just curious.

Is there any game other there that is similiar to Mount and Blade.

Because quite honestly, even though mount and blade is awesome, I wish I could play a different setting except with the same gameplay.

EDIT:
What I mean is the ability to become anything in the game.

With mounted combat? There's War of the Roses, which looks decent. Other than that, I can't think of anything else.

Well I mean the ability open world and the ability to become anything you want.
-X3: Terran Conflict
-Warband
-Pirates
Heard of X3 and pirates. Might look into them.
There's Mount&Blade: With Fire & Sword. It's not as good as Warband (haven't played the original), but it's a real world setting and has firearms, so it's different enough to be worth playing and it's still good. Sid Meier's Pirates! is, in a way, actually quite similar to M&B and is a lot of fun (it was, in fact, the first game I really got totally addicted to back in 5th and 6th grade), I can't really think of anything else that really even approaches the unscripted sandboxiness.

The only other game that I think of when I think "unscripted" are the STALKER series, but they're really completely different (totally worth playing though, and very cheap on Steam right now).

I really want another game like that too. Don't know of one other than Second Life. It's technically not a game, but it is open world and you can be whatever you want to be. Gorean Slave, Mistress, Master, Racing car driver, Samurai, superhero, alternate version of your real life self and much more. It does tend to suffer some major lag issues at times and the region restarts get a bit annoying, but overall I found SL to be like no other game or Virtual world really. Oh I just remembered Entropia Universe pretty much lets you be anything and do anything. You really get thrown in the deep end but if you are clever you can be something. I made some money in that game without spending any real money of my own. The thing is it seems to hate running on computers that have AMD Bulldozer Cpu's and some AMD video cards.
I also heard of a game called Real Warfare 2 being compared to Mount&Blade by some people, but i never played it so can't say if they're right or not.
Age of Chivalry maybe?
The closest thing that comes to Mount & Blade is darklands as an rpg (on gog).In fact the rpg mechanics are better and more engaging.

However if you're looking for a similar combat rpg then there is age of chivalry which is an MMO I think.

Since we're on to space games now, check out the Evochron games too. Mercenary is the latest. There's also Escape Velocity Nova if you can get your hands on that. Space Rangers 2 is also great - well, the best of its kind IMO - and if you like the open-world concept of M&B, you will love SR2. There are, of course, other space trader sims like Elite and Privateer, but I'm leaving them out because you probably know about them already.

I can't think of many games that feel like M&B though, but if you want more non-space recommendations, there's Sea Dogs and Sea Dogs 2 (aka Pirates of the Caribbean), which I hear are pretty good. The A.I.M. series are decent freeform games - you control a hovertank and you basically move around this weird alien planet while trading and running missions for a bunch of self-aware AIs. Last but not least, I haven't played this yet, but I've heard good things about Archimedean Dynasty.

Btw you should get the X Superbox if you can. It comes with all the X games, DRM-free, and it has a bunch of nice freebies in it too.

So many suggestions.
Have you looked at all the M&B and M&B:WB mods?

Mount and blade was actually inspired by darklands so no harm in checking up the original which was one of the best rpgs ever made.

I also second Darklands. Just bear in mind that it doesn't have a dynamic economy. Also, check my last post. I edited it.
