Finally bought it due to my girlfriend insisting upon it even though I told her that we need the Wii Motionplus to play it (she wouldn't listen). Had to order a Wii Motionplus from ebay (I'm not about to pay full price for it in a store... or even how much some of the sellers on Amazon are charging) only to realize that the seller is in fucking Australia. So in other words... we have a brand new game in a series that we strongly like/love that we bought brand new & can't even play it until next week.... life is good -_-

I think this is the reason they did an edition with a controller. That's what I got... it was cheaper to get the controller edition than it was to buy a separate Plus addon for our existing controllers.
I don't own any modern consoles but my mother has a Wii she lets me borrow any time I want. I borrowed it to play Mario Galaxy, Goldeneye and a couple other games and was frankly bored to freakin' tears. Just not my kind of games anymore I guess...

That said, I did enjoy Twilight Princess, and every Zelda game before that. So I am tempted to borrow her Wii and rent Skyward Sword.
I would get it but I don't really want to buy a motion plus and don't know anyone who has one that I can borrow. Incidentally, I really don't like the character designs. The humans just look really odd, Zelda especially. She looks like a man's face pasted onto a girl's body. It's a shame since I loved Windwaker's art.

Just finished it, ended up liking the controls despite the few lingering issues I have with them. This game has some of the best dungeons I've seen in Zelda games so far. 4th, 5th and 7th are my favorites. I really liked the game, but not sure how I'd rate it compared to the other Zelda games. I definitely liked it better than Wind Waker, but then Wind Waker is one of my least favorite.

There's a few things that bug me about the game, like fighting some bosses 2 or 3 times, re-using the same maps at different points in the game (always with a twist, but they're still the same environments, so there's no sense of exploration/discovery during these parts) but apart from that it's absolutely great. Strongly recommended for anyone who enjoys Zelda games.
Nope, don't have a Wii. I own Phantom Hourglass, though, and although I initially liked the touch screen controls now I find it too much of a pain in the butt to play. I have huge hands so I can't even see Link most of the time. >.>

...aaaaand that was off topic. Sorry!

I'll be asking for it for Christmas :3. One of the few games this year I've been looking forward to.
Just thought I'd do a followup. Finally started playing the game like 5 days ago. I've put maybe 10 hours into it so far & it is safe to say that it is a decent game. Is it mindblowingly awesome? No. Is it a very solid Zelda game? Yes. It should be noted that in the 10 hours I have spent in the game, I have only completed 1 temple (insane, I know), so maybe it gets better as it progresses even further (& I sincerely hope for it). Might do another follow up when (if) I beat it.
Nice feedback from everyone. I've been thinking of getting it but don't have much money at the moment although it does sound like a fanatastic game if you can get used to the controls.

Hopefully some stores will offer a good deal on it... although it's only just come out so not exactly sure how much it will drop in price for christmas.
i almost finished it, controls arent that tough.

nintendo rarely drops it price , especially that quickly with good selling games.
they make the profit on games, not their consoles.

was different in the nes days, where they had baskets of good games on discount.
but then again everything was better in the old days
