skarai: -I like the characters, didn't find anyone of them to be 'flat'

Sie sure as hell isn't, I always get confused when she's talking about her big guns...
From what I've read I'll be waiting until there are a couple of GB worth of patches for it.
If those don't turn up, oh well.
oops

A Blockbuster near me mistook the dates and put a copy out early on shelves. I picked it up and played it for about five hours before returning it. Story and dialogue branches are neat, but when the shooting and sneaking sucks, and when I have to constantly reload my save file because mission-critical doors won't open, I decided nothing about this was worth $60, so I promptly returned it. The Blockbuster manager got angry at me because she thought I abused her lack of knowledge of the release date, but truth be told, I also thought it was suppossed to be out May 27th.

It is listed for May 28 in Europe and Australasia, which is probably the source of your confusion. Games occasionally come out earlier there than in North America, and this is one of them.
FUCK YOU BRAYKO
I went back to Rome first tired of that coke-using nutter with bad fashion sense
Got it tonight, just finished the tutorial. Love it! People who don't like this game either don't get it or must've been playing some early crap version or something. Had to tweak some settings to get it to run smooth but after that it's like butter. Delicious butter.
It's multi-faceted and seems to be quite deep. Only complaint: needs more hairstyles. :D

TheCheese33: t when the shooting and sneaking sucks,

you know... you gotta put points in that. you cannot just be super sneaker and shooter from the start. at least that's what i read.
The main problem from what i figured out is that it is buggy... which is kidna sucky as i don't like bugs and when the game crashes (graphic bugs are not that biggie)
but game is compared to deus ex and bloodlines. and like i said on RPS: any game which is compared to those two gems is instant win in my opinion.

As I said I'm not far but so far it's quite smooth. And for an Obsidian game, very very smooth. :)
It doesn't seem like it has more bugs than the average game, maybe even less for all I know. And hopefully they'll patch those up soon enough.

If you haven't already, try going to Taipei and brefriend Steven Heck (a complete sociopath so it depends on if you really want someone like him on your side, you'll see what I mean when you meet him), he unlocks an intel option you can buy for Brayko's mission in which he will spike Brako's cocaine stash. I don't know the actual affects it has on the fight, but it seemed a hell of a lot easier to taken him down when I did it.
Good concept horrible execution. I couldn't care less about graphics and animations but it's just not that. The game itself feels awfully cheap, the camera likes to bug out when trying to aim behind cover, the AI is awfully bad and because of that it likes to cheat, went trough the doors in wrong order? Oops sorry you can't open it and collect whatever you missed. The bosses is many times extremely overpowered and frustrating unless you have the correct skills + weapon + gadgets.
The good parts with the game is the choices and the characters. The story itself isn't very special.
Sorry but considering the extremely long development time and numerous delays one would expect a better game. It's a shame because it could have turned out really good

I HATEHATEHATE games where invisible dice roll every time you shoot your gun, especially when they give you controls that make it feel more Gears of War than Fallout 3. I think Giant Bomb described it perfectly when they said at the beginning it's like he's never even seen a gun before.
So none of you has ever played an RPG game before eh?
Pfff.
Bitching just to bitch.
Huh, this game is £17 is the UK. Considering purchasing it.
