You could do Planescape Torment with only one kill, POSSIBLY not even that. It depends how a lawful neutral character would go. From memory you get the one fight in the fortress of regrets, ignus if you're good and vhailor if you're chaotic.
I think its going to in style with Deus EX. Where it cant be done without conflict, but you can get some stunners and such.
This game keeps looking better and better. I'm genuinely interested in it now.
Okay :) I like a non violent or at least, non leathal approach.
I'll start following the progress of this one now, and will continue to do so unless something turns up that really riles against me.
Yer I'm liking the sound of this game too. It does look pretty cliche'd in some ways but I get the impression it is at least partially intentional maybe a little like Mass Effects take on lower budget space opera.
It's good to see that peaceful (at least non-lethal) options will be available. I never do like executing my way through hordes of hired lackies. Mans gotta work right? The guys that hire them though will get brutalised to the full extent of whatever the game lets me do.
I've been looking forward to this one. It is getting to be irritating, though, that sex has become a required bullet point to prove the game is "mature."

Adult and mature sex scenes that approach the subject with tact and respect is the new bullet time. Didnt you know?
Tact and respect would be nice, its why I was so impressed with it in indigo prophecy. Oh no, farenheit, it wasn't IN indigo prophecy

chautemoc: Games can be art -- let us not confuse.
And yeah, that Watchmen sex scene was the worst I've ever seen in my entire life.

Rohan15: Too much blue penis and owl wieners.

I'm sold, I need to watch that movie.
Back on topic, I'm not exactly sure how this "pacifist" thing will work out. I mean they've been pimping their combat engine so much that I wonder if they will give some way to bypass it. Will there be a really viable stealth way, as in the Thief games, or will it just be a matter of fighting in a non-lethal way, with a bith of stealth mixed in?
Oh and The Witcher did sex the right way: collect a card for each girl you shagged!

Only problem is it is being developed by Obsidian Entertainment, which means it will be a great game hidden underneath layers of bugs that will take months to iron out, and it will probably instantly brick half the 360's the game is run on.
The other half will suffer a slow, painful death.

So get the PC version? ;)

I'm always wary of this you can do nonviolence stuff, because it makes scenario design ridiculous in non-stealth games, especially towards the end. You have a character with no fighting skills in a boss fight.
Kind of tough to have a climactic final battle you talk or steal your way through, barring maybe Planescape. See Lionheart for the classic example of this. Vampire: Bloodlines had these problems too with several of its non-combat classes, but it was mostly remedied by blood-buffing during bossfights. Still, the last couple of fights were very, very difficult for some of the non-combat classes if they didn't level carefully but cake for everyone else.
I have the lingering suspicion that this'll be closer non-lethal violence, than non-violence a la Judge Dredd or Goldeneye, MGS3 etc. They'll probably give you tranq darts and call it a day.

Wait, there was an Xbawx achievement for something which you don't 'shoot' anyone throughout the game. What the hell was it?
Mirrors Edge but thats SHOOT, not KILL. You are almost forced to knock at least one guard to certain death off a bloody high scaffold

Ah that's a new one to me, (I did a little research) but I was thinking of Ghost Recon etc. edition. In one of them I'm sure you have to make your team kill everyone.
