if that's the case, then OP is wrong, as "A Vampyre Story" never had Galaxy integration and is therefore not a gOg game :)

BUt I would argue that it is not. Galaxy integration (or Steam integration or any other such thing) is meta to the game and not the game itself. so if the same game has Galaxy integration here, and Steam integration over there - does that make it a Steam game or a gOg game?

An interesting example, considering "Vampyre Story" was for a long time exclusively sold on DotEmu.com (RIP), but then much much later it came to GOG as well.

So from DotEmu users' point of view, GOG "poached" that game from DotEmu, and eventually killed the DotEmu store! Oh noes!

It used to be a DotEmu exclusive game, not too many people remember that though.
Glad someone else also remembers it.

I still have the DotEmu version of Vampyre Story, along with a couple of other DotEmu games that I haven't seen elsewhere ever since.

DoomSooth: Zoom had lost it when everyone else did. Autumn Moon puhlishes A Vampyre Story itself, now. Strategy First was the original publisher, I think. IIRC, the game became available for sale again, about a week and a half later.

Mr. Freeman said that exclusivity wasn't requested but Mr. Tiller from Autumn Moon liked Zoom's release the most and decided the game should be sold there.

This is a partial quote: "It was delisted everywhere. For what it’s worth, we didn’t request exclusivity either. Mr. Tiller was very kind and complimented us on how our version ran the best. As a thank you for our services, he decided to make us the sole PC distributor. So I guess we should apologize for having a dedication to quality?"

Feel free to check out Zoom's Discord server to read what prompted it.
I wonder how much of what JP tells people is actually true or made up.
Like someone else said. If the ZOOM version is the best why not just release ZOOM version on steam or GOG like hardwar?what's with ZP thinking they own games they did not create

These threads mentioning that platform are like some weird, thinly veiled PR probes of sorts.

HKayn: In short, after the developer of Selaco did not get a response from GOG after multiple submission attempts, multiple members of the Zoom Platform community started raiding communication channels of Selaco and strongly suggested to release the game on Zoom Platform instead. They appeared to be coordinating this on the ZP Discord server.

The issue is ZP owner was promoting this behavior. But I'm pretty sure he stop after Selaco event. They had to tell one person to stop openly talking crap, about developers on ZOOM discord because it's making them look bad.

Maybe there is a reason. ZOOM make drm free games. GOG sometimes too - by outsource. Sega titles including upcoming Dawn of War it is GOG who paid to make such drm free (cracked) version. Some games they don't want to pay, Zoom (Jordan Freeman) do or make themselfs.

There is still no games Zoom steal or "poach". No one. There is games "poached" from Zoom. Is there is something else to discuss here?
Do you work for ZOOM or something? What games are being poached from ZOOM? You do know what poached means?

If Zoom-Platform were "poaching" games as OP asserts, it is a good thing for DRM-free-only customers, as Zoom-Platform seems to care much more about pure DRM-free gaming than GOG does.

Barring a bad personal experience like one GOG forumgoer alleges, there is really no downside for a DRM-free customer to get the same game on Zoom-Platform if it were "poached" and made exclusive there. They provide offline installers, ones without Galaxy bloat. With the direction GOG has gone, I actually view offline installers from places like Zoom-Platform, JAST USA, etc., as superior to GOG's as I don't trust GOG to keep stuff I don't want out of the installers. I can see where folks like OP would dislike Zoom-Platform getting the games and GOG not getting them though, as with Zoom-Platform there is no client/social media features and thus no precious external cheevos.

Additional consideration (forgive me if someone brought up, didn't read full topic): iirc Zoom-Platform was said to have rare "lifetime" contracts with their games (though I think there are issues with some games that have been temporarily unavailable to purchase), so if that's the case then your game would be accessible for as long as Zoom-Platform continues to exist, whereas GOG has games delisted regularly for various reasons (I know sometimes there is good reason like dev/pub not fixing/updating their game, credit to GOG in those instances; my point is simply that game preservation is arguably better on Zoom-Platform).
