wolfsite: I want GOG to be DRM-free, however I have been attacked by Boycott supporters despite this, in the boucott thread and elsewhere, it's like I'm "not DRM-free" enough for them as whenever anyone else posts about keeping things DRM-free they get support, when I do it I get attacked.

So I don't support the boycott due to how they treat other people. It's hard to hold a DRM-Free sign when people in the DRM-free group take shots at you and frankly it does matter what people on a side do or say as that will represent how people see the movement overall.

rjbuffchix: Btw I couldn't disagree with your last sentence more...for people to dismiss a valid idea due to imperfect adherents is a total cop-out.
Again not dismissing an idea, but if people only hear the loudest and they are verbally attacking and trolling others that can have a massive negative effect on the movement as a whole. If all the people who are behaving themselves and being positive are being heavily overlooked by the people who are attacking and trolling it is quite easy for people to see everyone in the movement as hostile and this can hurt the main goal of a movement or destroy iit completely. It only takes a few bad actors to ruin a play.

There have been a few notable individuals in the boycott topic who are "anti-boycott" and seemed to be posting solely to derail the thread. Are you willing to call them out as well?

I don't disagree that many folks do take the approach that if someone is "rude" then that someone's message is disregarded. This is something that happens all the time.

But, I am saying that is a logically fallacious and anti-intellectual approach. We can do better so instead of falling in line with the popularity of such an approach, we can work to look farther.

Along the same lines, if Time4Tea or any user is the most shameless, paid shill, astroturfer etc who is here only to promote Zoom-Platform, that doesn't say anything about GOG boycotting or quality of Zoom one way or another.
By the way, for those not aware, Duke Nukem 3D: Atomic Edition at ZOOM Platform, comes with a DLC pack.

So not only do you get the bonus 'Atomic' or 'Plutonium' episode, you get the following DLCs.

Duke Nuclear Winter
Duke Caribbean: Life's A Beach
Duke It Out in D.C.
Duke! ZONE II
Duke Nukem's Penthouse Paradise

I don't know why they don't list them on the game web page. I would have bought it sooner if they had, and not felt so bad about buying yet another copy.

They do say the following though.

This version includes the fourth bonus episode, a new weapon, and new enemies! Expansion packs are now available as bonus content free of charge. Your purchase is for the game only and not the expansion packs. Expansion packs are not guaranteed to work or offered with any warranty.

Thankfully, I was able to use the expansions with the ZOOM version, and they also work with eDuke32.

Probably the fact that it's considered an awfully bad game.

I agree, a really bad game. I would buy immediately if given a chance ;)

You can play it on GDX via...well you can find it easily enough. There's little chance the game will ever return, even more so given Shatner wishes for it to be buried at the bottom of the sea

Thank you very much, I'm well aware of that.

Nice.....seems zoom offers some extra DLCs for the game that others(steam/etc) don't.
I own the game on disc, but might get a Zoom copy for the installer w/DLCs(in part to show Zoom some more support).

Also to any goggers who might still question Zoom's games like Duke3d and etc, a bit from the discord(bolding mine):

Absolutely, I'm glad to have the truth out there.
Thank you for asking.
Ziggurat also acquired the Majesco catalog last year (which came with our contract). In both the case of Prism and Majesco, our typical perpetual rights contracts were not used. Both parties preferred their own agreements. However, we were able to make some adjustments.
Majesco was a great partner.

To the Developers & Publishers on Zoom Platform, its personnel and the fellow customers:

Happy International Day Against DRM!

I really appreciate we do not suffer the preconceived belief that we customers are freeloader pirates of the products sold and therefore limitations/restrictions are needed in every technical way possible to anticipate/avoid such unmaterialized abuse.
Instead, all of us belong to the -very few- that respect and value each other enough to trust, use DRM-Free installers and honor that trust being responsibles as much as possible to the obligations every one of us have.

Please feel proud of this brave choice, don't dismay and keep going: there is still a lot to accomplish. Let's prove together to the rest of the Software industry that this business model is friendlier, healthier and more successful than their model based on distrust, restrictions and prohibitions.

Thanks again and Congratulations! :)
