ASHLIIN: Will you buy Witcher 4?
For that to occur, I require binding assurances that Geralt will be visiting each and every single one of his 'partners' from past romantic encounters, and wholeheartedly apologize for his transgressions of yesteryear.

Geralt will also be expected to beg for forgiveness for not composing a single letter, nor making even the slightest effort to communicate with said forsaken lovers.

I trust that CD Projekt Red will fulfill these demands with dignity and grace.
Nope. It'd be too heavily DRMed. I haven't even gotten CP2077 because of the DRM it has, and wanted to refund Witcher 3 when they added some to it. I can't imagine how bad they'd make it once they get around to W4. It'd probably be always online or something.

timppu: Who sent you?!?
Prolly 'Ndrangheta. Or Yakuza. Or both. O.o
I definitely have already decided whether or not to buy a game we know next to nothing at this point and which will not come out for years, absolutely.
Yes I will 100% purchase The Witcher 4. I do not care if Geralt of Rivia is not in The Witcher 4.

I will 100% purchase The Witcher 5 if I am still alive by then.

I will 100% purchase The Witcher 6 if I am still alive by then.

I will 100% purchase The Witcher 7 if I am still alive by then.

I will 100% purchase The Witcher 8 if I am still alive by then.

I probably need to get my cholesterol under control if I want to still be alive for any of those The Witcher video games.

CP2077 and Witcher 3 dont have DRM. You can use an offline installer or even if you use Galaxy(aksi Steam if I'm not mistaken) you can run both games directly from the exe and they will run without a problem.

Yes they do. Please do not attempt to deny that there is DRM in those products. They are not DRM-free. There is content in the titles that not available without an online activation while signed in to your account. That is the very definition of DRM. That the majority of the content is available without DRM does not mean they are DRM-free.

The definition you're trying to use is the same one Ubisoft erroneously used when they put that Hitman game on here that (rightly) caused all the uproar.

Okay, just stepping in now to ask people not to hijack the thread into arguing about the definition of DRM....... yet again.... and who's opinion is correct and everyone must follow.
Meh. They're never going to reach the heights of camp that was the Witcher 1.

It's not a hijack: It's 100% relevant to the question, "Will you buy the next Witcher game?" And, as you see, many, many responses in here of "no, because of the DRM state of the previous couple CDPR titles". And then of course the DRMfenders/DRM-deniers surfaced to try to claim somehow a title with DRM is DRM-free.

But, yes, it would be nice if the deniers would indeed stop popping up all the time.
My first answer was going to be "Never!", but I finally bought The Witcher 3 last month (it was proposed for 3€) so maybe I should not be that categoric. Keeping in mind that I did not buy it to actually play it myself but as part of my open-source work, so I can more easily help other people who want to play it.

Since the only The Witcher game I actually like is the first one, the probability of me buying The Witcher 4 would still be very low. At least until it is available for a ridiculously low price.
I don't know, If it works on the Steam deck I will consider it. I need to see how are quests, characters and story. It's going to be interesting how are they going to get back to the writing and quests design from Witcher 3, because those are the weakest points from Cyberpunk 2077, but I understand that they did a much better job with the expansion.
I don't mind not playing as Geralt.
The question is if it's going to be release next year during GTA6 window? I doubt that. Maybe in 2026 but it's going to be a long wait. So yeah...!
The Witcher is one of my favorite game series of all time, so yes, I will definitely buy The Witcher 4.

I found the combat system at least in the first game very weird, I first misunderstood it and tried to play it like some kind of hack'n'slash arcade game.

Then again so was the Gothic 1 combat system weird at first, after awhile I got a hang of it.

So, if not Geralt, who will be the main character in TW4? Geralt Jr.? That blondie, Ciri-whatshername?

I am 87% certain that if not Geralt, the main character will be female, possibly black. Fits right in. I'll be very surprised if it will be some retro-sexual macho man, like Geralt.

I would most likely buy it at a discount, then never get around to playing it, like all the other parts in the series. ;P
