amok: Do you really think a indie developer and Disney will have the same contract? Honestly, are you saying you believe Disney's lawyers were not poring over it and making changes.... If anything it was gOg bending over backwards there. Sometimes you really baffle me..
RWarehall: Sometimes you really baffle me, the way you try to twist everything to be GoG's fault. I'm pretty sure every contract is pretty much the same. Just like every apartment contract is the same, because you can't go around making too many exceptions that you aren't giving to your other clients. Otherwise, they talk, it leaks out and the other publishers become unhappy. As I said in another post, a lot of people with no clue about how business works...
Umm..... I am really.... I don't know....... and to be honest, regarding that last line..... It was my exact same thought.....
I don't know, how to.....
Firstly - you may notice I have not placed blame on anyone, neither gOg nor Blow. To me, a negotiation like this sis normal practice (you kind say just as much yourself). If anything - the problem is the timeframe and Blow should have started it earlier. However, if it ends up without any deal because gOg refuse any negotiations, then I will blame them. But if it falls through rescue of unreasonable demands from Blow, then it will be his fault. The problem Herr is that non of us know any details.
Regarding - different contracts for different publishers.... what do you think those lawyers are getting the big bucks for? And it is up to everyone to negotiate the best deal possible. The difference between s small indie and a large publisher (like Disney) is experience, clout and time money. Disney can afford long protracted negotiations, most Indies can not and tend to not have the experience. You will also never see any such contract, as they will be bound by NDA's.
Lastly, while I am not putting blame on anyone, you certainly are doing so. But consider this, is not Blow just doing what any sensible person should do? ie. Read a contract before signing, and do not sign anything you do not agree to....
Atlantico: You are such a loon. Fuck you and your Steam apologizing. It's a shit service. If we want shit, we'll go get shit.
But it's shit.
Brasas: Uncalled for personal attack. Any history between the two of you?
Also logical error. Amok is advocating, not apologizing. Apologizing kind of implies guilt, which begs the question of whether Steam is or not shit.
Your opinion that steam is shit is valid as your opinion. Others might disagree...
I think I have seen him a couple of times, and this is just his normal way of behaving. This is especially funny as he is the first one mentioning Steam here. If anything, I will be getting the DRM free version from Humble.... maybe I am an Humble apologists :)
Just ignore him. I do.
