dtgreene: I've been thinking about a classic RPG series, but can't remember which one it is. I do, however, remember some details that should be enough to uniquely identify the series:
* There is a town named Skara Brae.
* In at least one of the games, the town Skara Brae is in ruins. (I believe it was one of the later games in the series.)
* There's an NPC named Hawk-something-or-other (don't remember exactly, but his name started with "Hawk").

So, anybody know which RPG series I've been thinking of?

DarrkPhoenix: Sounds like you're thinking of the original Bard's Tale trilogy. Skara Brae is a major city in the first game, and reduced to ruins in the third game. The third game also has an NPC Hawkslayer.

toxicTom: I'll just chime in... the Bard's Tale Trilogy remaster really shows how it's done. Keeps the original spirit alive, improves visuals and sound (but building upon the original), and adds a ton of improvements and convenience features (which can be turned off).
