rgnrk: Here we go again.

Thing is, the fact that "you" are not into Worms doesn't make it a shitty release. In fact, it's having an positive critical reception. The problem here are not the games being release, are the games NOT being released. But that shouldn't go against the ones that are.

As a disclaimer, no, I'm not really interested in Worms either. That doesn't mean I don't want it here. I want any worthwhile game here. The more the merrier.

And I wouldn't expect anything else today. Old releases are usually out a 15:00 (GMT+2). 18:00 (GMT+2) are normally intended for simultaneous new releases (with Steam and other stores). And at least from what I saw at the release list in metacritic, there didn't seem to be anything else that could be released here today. That list is not always up-to-date, though. Nor I really checked all the other games -just by name and general knowledge-. So I might be, hopefully, wrong.
"the fact that "you" are not into"

ummm... are u trying to say my opinion is not fact?! WHAT IS THIS MADNESS?

Nobody is saying it's a shitty release, I'm saying there overall Tuesday releases have been rather shitty lately. One game or two games (even if they might be good) is not that great. We need more variety, people like different things.

astroclay: Sounds a lot like Desktop Destroyer. I remember that application was on everybody's computers back in the late 90s.
That's funny, it reminds in the same era (late 90's) of the cats/dogs which you could play with directly on your desktop, kind of an interactive screensaver ^o^

Every opinion is in fact an opinion. And that's a fact.
And madness.

fortune_p_dawg: that describes exactly how i feel. when i heard worms was coming today, i let with a big sigh.

a few years ago a marketing rep from gog was interviewed at a gaming convention of some sort (i think this was pre-lucasarts and this guy had a beer and a beard) and when the interviewer asked the gog guy what his favorite good old game was, he fumbled around for a second before saying "worms" as though he didn't know what else to say. i though, "fucking worms, that's your favorite good old game? bro, do u even game?"

wish i could find that video. the gog rep was hinting at big news that he couldn't divulge too much about... but WORMS?! the way he stammered and then said it came off as very non-gamerish, as though that's the only franchise that he could drum up in his head, but didn't really expect to be asked that question. maybe it was the gog beer though.
Man alive, that's freaking sad. Especially considering all the amazing classics on GOG to pick from. It's like being asked what your favourite board game is and answering with "Candyland".

The number of releases has been scarse, as of late. But not only on tuesdays. There haven't been all that many interesting new game releases either -imo, and as a collector more than a gamer, I have a wider spectrum for that than most for what I consider interesting- this last couple of months, and the few potential ones, didn't go drm-free. So yes, we've been kind of dry on new releases. Old releases are harder and harder to come by. And unfortunately, but for a couple of exceptions, they didn't use the available resources to release all those rejected games.

We did miss Reigns, tough. Just like Downwell before. Both from Devolver Digital and both, apparently, more than worthy of being here.

It's always a letdown for me when the only release of a given day is one that was previously a pre-order. We already know it's coming and it feels like it was released twice, in a way. I like surprises.

Psh... what is the entry-tier garbage? If you don't play Monopoly why are you playing board games at all?

Heh. Alright then, this is my actual favourite boardgame. I used to have the original Eon edition, with expansions, and am sorry I didn't keep it all this time.
