Emob78: I think they're going for the 13 year old beta tester demographic. Very specific market.
ROFL :o)
So, is there no actual release today or Oblivion comes later :) ?

Tha-tha-tha-that's all, folks. A space shooter beta announcement and an in-dev choo choo simulator. I don't know about you, but I am overwhelmed.
There has got to be more for today... I know summer releases are usually bad, but GOG deals in old games... surely they got more.

There are two upcoming games on Steam which are scheduled to be released in 3-4 hours (Phantaruk and Monsters and Monocles). Their release window aligns with GOG's, so I bet that at least one of them will make it here. Otherwise, I am sure we can expect some kind of thrilling announcement regarding paid DLC as today's afternoon release.

Sounds like the mantra of old GOGers:

"Oh GOG, why have you forsaken us!"
Yup, looks like I was right. inDev. Moving into at least week 3 of the major Meh.
What will it be tomorrow, InDev DLC for Meh simulator 5?

astroclay: So for today we got an In-Dev game and a procedurally generated something that is "coming soon." Meh...

Is it just me, or is there a clear "type" of game that GOG tends to seek out and release? I feel like adventure games, point-and-click, sims, and roguelikes constitute most of what we see here nowadays.
As usual, our impression on releases is always tampered by our own individual likes and dislikes. Before friday's Pilot Brother's, which was the previous adventure game release? On the other hand, I feel like we had several FPS and strategy releases this months. But then, I'm also affected by bias.

Next week we'll have "GoGers continue to complain about releases instead of playing their backlogs Simulator 2017"?
i am a bit afraid of the day Oblivion might actually be released on GOG.
some people will probably implode, being robbed of their purpose in life :)

Oh, most definitely! Still, I wonder what 2016 looks like in terms of its releases categorized by genre. I know there is a list that discusses how 2016 compares to years past based on the number of games released, but does anyone know if there is a similar thread dedicated to tracking new releases by genre tags?

There's also the fact that GOG is mostly able to new indie games, as some indies are the only ones willing to release day1 drm-free games. And many new indie releases are rogue-lite, as it's the trend nowadays.

But then, I don't really care about genres. Well, I do, but not in the context or release merit. My take on it is that GOG should release any game they deem worthy (and even if they don't, the should release games with critic consensus too). If many of those are from a specific genres, that only reflects on the state of the industry. I surely don't want them refraining from releasing good games just for statistics sake.

Nah, there's always another game... ;)
BTW, do we have more clues on the supposed brand new AAA game "which is not NMS" that GOG was bragging about? At least we could possibly spare some money (coz it will surely be 60€/$) if we had more infos...
