de_Monteynard: Consider yourself lucky! I have been stuck with the basic Intel HD Graphics for over a year now, but I have found that it still manages to play a wide range of games, 2D and 3D. As long as a game does not require a lot of GRAM or dedicated graphical memory, you should be able to run it. So far, it has worked on everything from the early 2000s, with games tested from as late as 2006. So yeah, new 3D games are out of the question, but the HD3000 should run most modern 2D titles and older 3D ones.
I consider myself spoiled and on withdrawal. :)
But you are right of course, before I had gaming PC, I used to run a lot of stuff on this thing. It can even run Oblivion on lowest settings (and the cobwebs look horrible), so not even 3D titles are out of the question. It's not bad graphics card at all, only real problem it has is that in notebook it overheats quickly and reduces it's clock. This effect was most visiblble in Rogue Legacy. Plays fine for minute or two, then it starts lagging at one moment, until it cools down again.
