Why? As much as I understand even the Steam version uses old style game keys which are inserted by Steam and it has no third party drm.

According to the forums on the official game site they said, it will be probably ready on march 4th. This was friday and GOG staff doesn't work on weekends so...
Hmmm... that would be nice for sure, and an instabuy as well, but I think when he said it would be ready by the 4th, he was talking about the Humble version for the backers, and even then I think that was an estimated time frame. Check the Humble store, it still isn't offered DRM-free.

I'm interested about this as well. The PC Gaming Wiki claimed the retail version of Doom 3 only had a "disc check." But did the original disc version have other forms of DRM on it?
