HGiles: On the other hand, I like this approach much better than overhyping things. GOG used to have a real problem with trumpeting stuff far and wide that wasn't that awesome.

Wishbone: No need to hype anything. Just tell us something. You know that "New & Coming" tab on the front page? It'd be nice if there were actually any games in there in the "coming" category once in a while.
I agree. I also think it would make better business sense for them, but what do I know.
I have the feeling that they want above all to keep this "family" approach going, even though they may have outgrown it in terms of size.

Erich_Zann: Maybe a solution would be not trumpeting everything, not making everything a surprise, maybe announcing a bit in advance a part of what is to come (especially in the case of new-ish releases) and keeping the classics & partnership as surprises ?
Especially for the people who are time and again protesting that they'd "have waited and not bought on Steam if only they knew it would come to GOG". I don't care, I almost only play older games as my machine is antiquated, but other people might.
That approach would make sense to me. I know for a fact they've lost quite a few sales through the "No, we refuse to tell you anything" approach, because people who would have bought a given game here if they'd only known it was coming end up buying it elsewhere instead.
I think the most simple question would be if we get the answer on all our questions today or not?

Guys and gals,

I'd love to drop hints about the upcoming games and all but it's not my place to do so and because the NDA and because there exists a small tendency to take a hint and go "BIG PUBLISHER CONFIRMED!".

I do apologize for teasing you all today, I see that I should've just stayed quiet but I couldn't resist knowing that we do have some awesome releases coming this month and very, very soon. How soon, I'd rather not say but I did kind of want to build up some hype as I figured you guys would be blown away by what's coming up.

Believe me when I say this: I really want to share what's coming up but I just simply can't.

Regarding the New and Coming tab, I think that part of the reason we don't have too many "Coming Soon" things showing there is that we have been burned before either by pure circumstance or by technical issues that we later managed to solve but not in time for a pre-ordained release. This last sentence stems from my experience on both sides of the fence as staff and as a customer. I am sure there are other reasons but I haven't had the chance to ask around as there are still some folks on vacation :)

Regarding the valuable insights, Erich_Zann, we do have a feedback section just for that and yes, feedback is looked at and read :)

Again, I do apologize for teasing everyone and please know it wasn't my intent to hurt or troll anyone here.

I'd guess as much, I just found it amusing how we're all standing at the counter explaining the bartender how he should serve the drinks while he's trying his best not to burst out laughing.

Well, I can tell you this: I certainly can't wait for yall's reaction to our first release this year and it feels like release day is too far away :)

Hey, we aren't saying that you, Judas, need to personally tell us RIGHT NOW all the releases GOG has planned, and for when.

We're saying that you, GOG.com, would do well to reconsider your long standing policy of "Absolutely everything is secret".

Ok, so now I have a hunch, but I won't tell to not create a new wave of trolism.

I seem to remember that the devs have more or less officially announced that they were working to bring the STALKER games to GOG. CBA to find the source, though.
