The comment was an Austin Power's reference. :P It has nothing to do with age.

dtgreene: Picture? My comment was based solely on the text in your post.
Also, a clever kid could find a way to take a picture of themself in such a position. Or it could have been a security camera.

Second, the word "baby" does, indeed, indicate age. In fact, I consider it rude to use that term to refer to an adult or teenager (which I assume this user is), unless you know the person *really* well and they're OK with it. I see it as rather infantalizing.
(Have you ever been catcalled? The use of "baby" to refer to an adult is actulally quite common in that context, and catcalling is one of the rudest thinks one can do.)

tinyE can correct me if I'm wrong, but the "baby" had nothing to do with me. (Have you ever been catcalled? The use of "baby" to refer to an adult is actulally quite common in that context, and catcalling is one of the rudest thinks one can do.)
If I'm not mistaken, "yeah baby" is a generic slang phrase used to express excitement.
Somewhat like saying "awesome", or "wicked" without its original meaning.
Slang isn't my strong suit, so I probably don't have the best examples.
P.S. Who/what is Austin Power?

This, and the fact that you haven't even seen the movies proves the phrase goes way beyond the movies which makes her gripe even more ridiculous....and WAAAAAAAAY too literal. :P Somewhat like saying "awesome", or "wicked" without its original meaning.

And I don't want to get into a fight here, so I'll stop it with this post. but dt has given me crap about movie references before: more to the point, without knowing anything about the movie or how the line was used in it, the vein and the context in which it was delivered, she criticizes me for it. It's like if I was to quote Airplane, she would reply "That's not funny. Shit hitting a fan could be very dangerous."
But this isn't the thread for this so, like I said, I'll let it rest.

Captain Caveman being my favorite cartoon when I was a kid, it makes me happy to be reminded of it each time I see the bathroom mirror.

hudfreegamer: Please see my user name. It's sort of my thing. I always prefer to play games without huds. I find them much more immersive and enjoyable without them. Huds just obstruct my view and I rarely find them helpful.
bloodbowl: I suppose the games you play are simplistic enough to allow that sort of thing then? Can't see that many games working well without hud. It would be possible to play those games without a hud, but they would have to be programmed with that in mind from the start.

Managed to cut down a bigger tree today, again without damaging myself. Or the neighbor's fence. Poor tree got infested by some bugs, so its days were numbered anyway. The big thing - maybe 60 feet tall - did take out a bush of ours, but I never liked that bush anyway. But the bush will likely recover next spring.
Stupid bush.
Got hit up the neighbors and see if anyone wants some fire wood. If not, maybe my tree guy will mulch it up on the cheap. Can always use more mulch around here.

hudfreegamer: Most first person shooters, platformers, and modern adventure games work well. The only game genres that can't be played without a hud are some simulation games, open world games that rely heavily on a mini map, and many real time strategy games. It would be possible to play those games without a hud, but they would have to be programmed with that in mind from the start.

Not a fan of bushes / shrubbery in general. I never really quite know how to trim them properly so A) I don't kill them off, and B) so they don't look like a complete amateur (me) hacked away at them. More of a flowering plant guy.
