A blissful quiet and absence of noise.

chevkoch: I see :) And I know what you mean, it's been strange to see how eyesight changes and the way you cope with it in daily life.

HereForTheBeer: My eyesight isn't changing; my glasses are simply getting worse.
Glass half full, best way to look at it for sure.

Happy that a certain former NC governor is having trouble finding work.
A new bed..
Spent a dollar and got two cd's from the library (U2, George Winston).

I found my caaat!!! Poor thing was hungry, scared and afraid of other people, even me... The only thing i could logically deduce at, was that a stupid neighbor, either knowingly or not, closed it off inside his outdoors storage space or something. I ordered lots of junk food to celebrate on the occasion, late at night (technically, today morning very early first hours) and i even fed the poor thing, too! From a sad, scaredy cat, it immediately transformed into a meowing singing-like, noisemaker!

I was so sad before, but now, i found it! And just to be safe, i will try to be a bit less sadistic. I know i am in to receive karmic backfire for all my previous workings, so it never hurts to display some basic humility, just in case, to mitigate some damage and all. Ah, the scales of justice, damn how tricky they are!

Oh man, I recently had a dream that feral cats got into my house and attacked my two cats--the feelz for the furballz is real. I am glad your story had a happy ending :)

Today I am happy that the significant other donated unto me the other half of their BJs veggie burger and fires.
Mixed feelings on this one. Another machine salvage job. Really big machine, only 12 years old, still runs fine. Owner tried for a year to find a buyer but no takers. Got to be crunch time since the warehouse where they're storing it is set to be demolished next week and it costs a mint to move this thing - it takes 4 flatbed semi trailers to move it.

Tried hard to find a last-minute buyer, practically giving it away, but the guy we were working with - someone who definitely knows the value of the machine - simply couldn't make it work. He's kicking himself in the ass but if you can't do it then you can't do it.

So I'm getting parts off of it. Which is great, don't get me wrong, but it's a damn shame to see this glorious thing soon to be reduced to used parts and the rest sent to a scrapper. Everyone was really trying to find it a new home but it's a specialized bit of kit and there aren't many people in the market for a machine with its capabilities and capacities. Fortunately, parts translate over to the smaller machines that are my bread and butter.

The timing could be better. My schedule is all tied-up so I'm stuck paying someone else to take off parts and ship them; that's an added cost I don't need. Freight won't be cheap, either, and both of those are on top of the cost of the machine itself - admittedly dirt-cheap, but still a lot of money for a one-man outfit like mine. And of course it hits at tax time.

I always hate to see a good production machine get scrapped, even though parts salvage is a good source of income. And especially this time, since the machine is pretty new and is fairly spectacular to see in operation. And in great shape. A bit sad.

Glad you found it, but why do you let your cat roam?

Because i didn't sterilize him (i did a research and it changes personality, physical aspects and even needs special food for sterilized cats)! I do my best to keep him indoors, though, most of the time (especially whenever i am home, too)!

Preventing a man by force from getting it on with girls is something so cruel, that old Bradley would never do; let alone castrate the poor thing... My cat will have his catgirls, whenever he needs to, that is why he roams. At least he doesn't roam all the time and he needs companionship only during certain (mating) seasons!

Good work, glad you did.If you lose him again expect a visit.
My day has already involved making an invoice. Usually it's boring, but this time part of the invoice reads:

"...for removal of the first 10 graves.... A discount has been applied for volume."

I had to chuckle. That's definitely something I never expected to be typing about an IRL event.
