Oriza-Triznyák: I turned 50 today
Happy B-Day to you, good sir og madam.

My happy day: Day off from work and playing Skyrim for 6 hours and collecting my bike that had been into shop for maintenance.

To reflect this awesome B-Day milestone, I give your comment here an upvote as a virtual present from me.
Finally tried linux after putting it off for a long time and worked really well :D

I booted it from a USB and played around with it, watching vids and such. I went with Mint META but i think i also wanna try Ubuntu since it looks really cool :P. For some reason though the touchpad wasn't working. My laptop was recognizing input but i couldn't use it anyway. Mouse worked fine so it didn't bother me that much, but i hope if i boot it again sometime it will work, if not, i guess i'll look into it.
Recently got back in to gaming this year after a three year hiatus. It definitely feels great to be back playing AdventureQuest, Morrowind, Diablo 1, and Grim Fandango (to name a few). I feel as if a piece of me had been missing kind of without gaming. I've got a big project coming up in 2025 so I might have abstain again a bit longer though, I'm afraid. I'm just hoping after that (and soon) I can *fully* reintegrate in to this hobby again!
My best friend appears to be coping with his diagnostic much better than I thought he would. Makes me happy to know that he's carrying on with life, such as setting up his Xmas tree and making plans to visit me (and some mutual friends) for New Years. :) We continue to chat and laugh, like we normally do. He proved to be so much stronger than I gave him credit for and he's definitely much stronger than I would have been in his shoes.
Visited my best friend, yet again! :) Spent the weekend finalizing his Xmas tree with more itsy bitsy lights; hanging two newly-framed art prints on his wall; preparing a zesty orange trifle from Trish Deseine's dessert cookbook; unknowingly attending an experimental industrial live band concert where the singer kept screaming diabolically into his microphone causing us to laugh to the point of dying because we were on our third Amaretto sours; cooking a basic red wine lamb stew from a Jamie Oliver recipe; enjoying many brief sunny but frosty walks about town; binge-watching Guy Ritchie's The Gentlemen on Netflix; dancing with his cat to groovy Christmas lounge beats! :P She loves it!

Currently on a long bus drive in total darkness engulfed by the fragrance of someone's smelly winter boots. I'm less happy about this little part. xD
After quite a number of days searching for the souvenir I want to bring back home to my coworker, I've finally found it! It's actually just a coloring book since I heard from my coworker herself that whenever she felt bored with nothing to do, she would just get her hands on some colored pencils to color a coloring book. The problem was, I wanted to buy a coloring book that's at least unique to the country which I'm currently visiting, which is Japan. So it was quite a struggle to look for one, as I had to visit Maruzen and open and close every book which I thought had black and white pictures inside. But I've found it finally!
Latvia in ice hockey WJC 2025.
What a game! What a fighting spirit! Congrats, guys!

I shot a picture today in the morning I'm quiet proud of.
I mean... I took many pics and only one got really good but that's normal or most of the time still almost like a lottery win.
A good way to start Dec 31. since this year has been.......mhm..

Vodka makes only happy people happier – and makes unhappy people unhappier :D
So – tell us what made you happy before that vodka? ;)
Ever since the Dragon Age: Veilguard controversy, and playing a bit of the original Dragon Age: Origins (GOG version) and seeing it isn't a half-bad game at all, I've been wondering I'd really like to play Dragon Age: Inquisition at some point as some Youtube-video claimed it is the best game in the DA series.

Since it appearing on GOG is close to nil at this point, I was wondering do I really have to buy it on Steam or elsewhere. It just feels so wrong, like stealing a lollipop from yourself or something.

Today, to my surprise, while perusing my EGS game library (311 free games), checking whether I already have Orcs Must Die 3 there (as it was a freebie two days ago and I barely missed it), I noticed that hey I already have the GOTY version of Inquisition there! So I am covered after all! If it happened to arrive to GOG at some point DRM-free, I'd buy it here though, but a free DRM-version is better than nothing. So it isn't DRM-free, but it is free DRM, if you know what I mean?

What's more, I already had Orcs Must Die 3 in my EGS library too, so I doesn't matter I missed the more recent EGS freebie! Double whammy!

If I also find out I already have Dragon Age 2 on some platform, I'll probably shit my pants! Heck, I will shit everyone's pants! Then again I've heard it isn't necessarily that good but still.
