After several decades of life on this pathetic little rock of a planet, I am finally starting to grow a spine.
As to whether or not this will turn out to be a good thing, only time will tell...but I hold out hopes that it will.

A quick example: we have a karen type neighbor living near us in another apt. They have kept making on and off complaints about us over time, and as a result the landlord asked us to make fixes here and there. We of course did, in the spirit of being good neighbors, but the karen keeps complaining. This of course causes the landlord to keep trying more and more fixes, and at this point i'm getting so annoyed by all the bother that i've convinced my da to start looking for a place we can either get a loan on or rent to own.

Then I wish you a happy ending. I don't want to scare you, but imagine you're moving and there's a "Karen" living left and right. 8-o

My cat nearly passed away on Wednesday when his blood sugar levels crashed. Even when he came home, I had to let him rest under blankets with a heating pad on the warm setting and offer him food every hour. I also was feeding him churu (lickable cat treat) with karo syrup mixed in to get his blood sugar levels up.

He's back on antibiotics today, and we're back to the beginning in terms of diabetes management as his blood sugar was 300+.... but at least he doesn't have something like an insulin secreting pancreatic tumor that would be 100% fatal.

I'm happy that I'll have more time with my cat, who turned 16 this month.

I helped Mom to till her garden late this morning. We then planted a couple of seeds: marrow squash, New Zealand spinach, scallions and green string beans. It got way too hot and humid shortly after noon, so we dropped everything and ordered a pizza. Out of the blue, Mom began reminiscing about Dad as we ate, sharing stories with me, some funny and some scandulous. Nonetheless, I enjoyed this little intimate moment we spent together. :)

First off, sorry to hear your kitty had such serious health issues. Secondly, I wanted to say kudos to them for reaching such a milestone(one of my own kots reaches 15 in about a week). Here's hoping you both are able to spend a good deal more time together filled with special moments :)
