Pointing Guns 3 : The Pointening.

That's a good movie.

Sadly not. The fact that there is no movie at all with such a title seems downright criminal, though.

So, no (other) guesses so far? I think it might be a bit too obscure.

Maybe some more pictures of people pointing guns will help. By the way, I did not pick those bits intentionally. Out of nine screenshots I pulled from the DVD, six were of various people pointing various guns at various other people (and one was just text on a white background). Didn't even notice that at first. Hell, even the entire title sequence of the film consists of someone pointing their gun at the camera.

Guys, let me know whether or not this should be terminated in favour of something that people might have actually seen.

Please please please tell me that, throughout the whole movie, there is not one single shot fired.

That would indeed be greatness.

No that would be "Steel Magnolias".
or "Men Don't Leave"
or "Terms of Endearment"
or "The Notebook"
or "Message in a Bottle"

I know only the first one, and only by title. I would say, I'm gonna look into those, but I'm already waaay behind in my movie backlog. With two kids and full time work (and games) I just don't manage watching 2+ hour movies very often.

But I was somehow reminded of The Mission by Johnny To. (Beautiful) People pointing guns. Only a few shots fired. Great movie.

They are chick flicks, you don't need to look them up. :D

Damn and I really fell for this. The titles surely don't suggest this. Thought they were movies of people pointing guns, but not shooting. A devious trap?

I'm really happy with the tastes of my wife. She also likes The Mission, Shutter Island everything Joss Whedon, some things Tarantino and even Riddick. Couldn't get alot from Fight Club unfortunately, but maybe it's really a "man's movie".

Maybe it's asked to much: ""Remove everything that has no relevance to the story. If you say in the first chapter that there is a rifle hanging on the wall, in the second or third chapter it absolutely must go off. If it's not going to be fired, it shouldn't be hanging there." Anton Chekhov. (Most of the time shortended to "If there's a gun, it will be fired".)

XD A couple of years ago Fight Club was voted the greatest 'guy movie' of all time. Both Pitt and Norton showed up to accept the award.
While I am in no position to be picky my ideal woman would be a horror film fanatic but I don't know how I'd feel about a girl that loved Fight Club.

BTW the forum is still looking for an answer here; I don't want to come off like I'm derailing.

That would be amazing, but there is quite a lot of shooting in the film.
Although, it seems that most characters in it are really bad at actually hitting anything. There is a hilarious scene where the main character dodges several shots that are being fired from a distance of about 5 metres by leaning slightly to the side each time, before commenting something like "They say it's the bullet you don't see coming that kills you".

No clue. Maybe a year? One actor's name?

Released in 2002. Director, writer and main character are all the same person, although the last one was actually uncredited.

I guess that's not worse than dodging five minutes of sustained fire and going "I have studied maths and a lot of gunfight recordings, and so I chose to stand on the spot where statistically the least amount of bullets tend to pass".

And, yes, playing it straight.

Hm, I guess, although I really love Equilibrium. At least that's a sci-fi film and it tried to explain the stupid nonsense it did, so it has some kind of flimsy excuse.

Another hint: The film's title has to do with the number 3.

By the way, I love this movie as well, for completely different reasons. It's an absolute blast to watch.
