JMich: The 1999 clue proved enough for my google fu (or mobygames fu).
Deo Gratias, by Cryo Interactive
Correct!
Out of curiosity, has anyone here actually heard of that game before? I don't know exactly how unknown it is, but I've never actually seen anyone refer to it on online.
Even though some of the images seemed familiar, I don't recall ever playing this one.
So, on to the new game.

Scarab of Ra and that's for sure!

MAN! That brought back some memories... me and my friends used to say "the monkey stole a piece of charcoal" whenever something surprising happened.

Correct, another game of my early childhood, when I used to play games without understanding exactly what I was doing. I will have to go find it again sometime, and see whether I can finish it now or not.

Your turn btw.

I tried to refresh this game about two years ago but it didn't turn out to be a good idea... so I decided it's better to keep a good memory about it and I gave up almost immediately.

As for my riddle: I was thinking about the game that I would like to play again after a long time and here it is...

I've sadly never played it. I just remember seeing screenshots of it around the time of its release.

This one should not require a lot of hints, I think.

No-one?
This is a WW2 RTT, that got pretty good review scores. Players criticized it for being Starforce infested on release (and I don't think any later releases removed it), but apart from that, it was well received. A bit too generic though, and the manual had some funny translation errors.
Also, the game is from Hungary.

Could this be one of Codename: Panzers? Specifically the Phase 2, since you mention Starforce.
I think I recall it due to the russian accents, and also due to the starforce on the 2nd game.

It is not Codename: Panzers, though you are relatively close.

You should give it a try!

There are so many WW2 games that it's hard to remember them all. At the beginning a thought of Company of Heroes but right now I'm pretty sure that it's rather Rush for Berlin

It is Rush for Berlin!

Rush for Berlin's interface looked a bit different from the norm, but apart from that, it looks like any other WW2 RTT.
I will give you a game from my early childhood
