Wild guess, but it's not Prehistoric, is it?
If it is not Prehistorik, it is "The Humans".

I certainly don't know it under that name so no but you are within a couple of hundred million years of the correct answer!

Not that either I'm afraid

Cave Man Ninjas?

rasufelle: Cave Man Ninjas?
That's the incredibly silly genre mashup we've been looking for!

H.E.R.O.

Edit: I didn't cheat myself, but you should really modify online images somewhat before you upload them, to prevent TinEye searches.

Obviously, correct.

And, why? If someone has to cheat to move the game along, then the game was too hard to guess on its own anyhow. 'Sides, I'd much rather use the opportunity to introduce people to things they might not have played that are interesting than simply stump them :P

EDIT: On a side not, I've always thought it would be hilarious to see a parody video of Enrique Iglecias's song "Hero" based on this game.

Well, here's a new one. The demo had pretty catchy music.

Seriously, is that a clone of Metroid?

A shameless ripoff is more likely. But the MOD-based music is very nice, I even copied it from the demo to my music directory.
Another image, with generous amounts of HQ filtering applied.

Also, as an extra hint, the game can be found both on MobyGames (where the first screenshot was from) and Home of the Underdogs (where I got the shareware for this screenshot.)

Videos can also be found on youtube.

Last hint - look closely at the second screenshot I posted.
Didn't see this yesterday. Vigilance on Talos V.

Anyone may continue, I'm not as hardcore as many people here.
