Looks like some kind of adventure game (or HOG), but no clue which one.

No, that's not it. This game is a pure puzzle solving fun with just a few minor adventure elements, music is fitting too. There are several types of puzzle in each stage with a few bonus levels with time constraints. It was one of the first if not the first game to officially support Windows 2000 hence it has absolutely no problems running under Windows XP and even Windows 7 with latest official patch, never tried it for Win10. The publisher is one of the most known companies in the world, while the creator is also well known but only for one particular game. And you probably played that other game for sure at least several times or have seen others play it constanstly.

P.S. I would jump out of my pants out of joy if this masterpiece gets a release here. But chances are slim. Sorry for my grammar.
