Not saying it doesn't have one, I'm legitimately asking what it is. It isn't an adventure story. It seems to be saying something like, "Staying calm can make make you a great astronaut, but you need strong feelings about important relationships." Dunno what else. Anyone?
If you're looking for the point in films, you're missing the forest for the trees.
I haven't seen the movie but I think the point is that you should never forget the importance of those that are the dearest to you, and cherish the moments that you get to spend with them.

A bit like I feel about my GOG games, basically.
I missed the point because I felt asleep for most of the movie, but it seems a good movie anyway...

Same - one of the most boring films I've ever seen (though it had really good sound effects and vfx) and I loved 2001, so I don't have problems with slow movies. The movie tried to always let the viewer assume that there's something big that happened, that there's a conspiracy going on and that everybody believes in a lie ... in the end none of this was the case and what he wanted to do the whole movie was over in seconds .... I really fail to see the point as well.
To make money.

(insert Mister Crabs dollareye pic. here)

P.S.
On serious note I thought it was a very entertaining although I'm at odds with the message that need to take care of the persons close to you, it tries hammer it in too much.

To me it was rather poorly laid out, but what I got in the end was: "Maybe we're all alone out here, so why not get our shit together and stop working against one another, eh?".
