GameRager: You can toss the bait up to high places and they will fly/leap to it and attack those nearby.

TheMonkofDestiny: The fights against the Antlion Guards are mostly in enclosed areas in the Nova Prospekt chapter (inside the prison itself, if I recall) where the normal Antlions can't reach.
Yeah, through a crawlspace, a small window, a narrow passageway, or something like that.

One wiki states that antlions in the vicinity of a guard are immune to the bait, so it's probably for the best anyway.

Now I'm back in City 17.

Disco Elysium, it's awesome.
To my surprise, I beat the Saladin mission "J***d!" a few hours ago. I was seriously contemplating giving up on it and moving on, even after skimming a bunch of walkthroughs. Sure, it may not have been as dubiously hard as "A Perfect Martyr", but on Hard, the Yellow AI creates a killer navy that I doubt you can defeat. In all the AOE2 campaigns I've played thus far, I've never had to deal with Heavy Demolition Ships. Suddenly, out of nowhere, here's an AI that attacks you before the 30 minute mark with 4-6 Heavy Demo Ships, 6-9 Galleons, 5-7 Fire Ships, and 2-3 Elite Cannon Galleons. If that's not enough, you're probably still in the Castle Age because you'll spend the first 20 minutes defending against two land-based attacks. And, of course, the Yellow AI also sends the occasional Transport Ship filled with Cataphracts, Onagers, and Bombard Cannons. Wheeee!

In the end, I went with a tip I read somewhere online and abandoned my starting base that's dangerously located along the coast. When the Yellow navy came knocking, I evacuated my villagers and created a new Town Center farther inland. As I was building my new base, the enemy Cannon Galleons managed to destroy nearly every building and wall section save for a few of the innermost tiles. Not having to worry about that damned fleet was a huge relief, so I managed to rebuild and eliminate Yellow when I had Elite Cannon Galleons of my own.

The next and final Saladin mission is "The Lion and the Demon", and by all accounts, it'll ruin me. Geez.
"The Lion and the Demon" should've been called "I Wanna Be The Guy". Damn this mission! Damn it to hell!

lol, why are you playing it on hard?
I finished it about a decade ago on normal, and I just barely won...iirc I had two (or more?) rows of walls, but when the timer ran out, most of my fortifications had already been razed to the ground.
Can't even imagine how it's on higher difficulties.

morolf: lol, why are you playing it on hard?
I know it'll bug me for years if I didn't try it on Hard. Go big or go home.

That being said, damn that level.
I've started playing Neverwinter nights 2: Mask of the betrayer.
I'm still quite early in the game (just entered Mulsantir for the 1st time), but the high-level combat is already getting on my nerves...epics D&D is pretty lame.
Playing Wizardry 1-2-3: Story of Llylgamyn (Super Famicom), and found a few things that seem off (playing Knight of Diamonds):
* Enemies flee way too often
* The Mace of Pounding gives its wielder 4 attacks per round, which is a bit much (it has allowed me to take a couple characters to level 11 as a priest, giving me two characters with MADI rather early)
* There seems to be a bug with initiative; characters with 16 or more agility often act dead last in the round. Therefore, Dwarfs (who in this version of KoD (but not the other two games on the cart) are limited to 15 AGI) are unquestionably the best race. Perhaps I should test Wizardry 5 SNES to see if that's still true there. (Wizardry Gaiden 4 does not have this bug, though it does have a bug where casting the spell that removes curses (ZILFE) will corrupt your save.)
7,62 Hard Life
it's a standalone add-on for 7,62 High Caliber, the only decent descendant of Jagged Alliance we got since JA2.
It brings new content (missions, maps) from Reloaded expansion which was never released in the west.
Also bring a ton of micro managements - hunger, paper checks, numerous (rarely explained) details, repairs, weapon maintenance (hovering cleaning kit over gun doesn't work anymore) but thankfully you can turn most feature off.
And you can turn off random encounters, which is godsend when you focus on missions.
Sadly no free mercs are at my disposal beside one near the end of the main quest.
I gave up on the DOS era versions of Shadow Warrior and started playing the 2013 remake. It screams console but at least I manage to get somewhere in it and can turn all graphics settings to max. I have not grasped how fencing works so am just clicking away and moving around to rush in and jump out and sidestep attacks.

That's too bad! The original Shadow Warrior is one of my favorite FPS games.

I guess he was tiny grasshoppa
I certainly am a N00B at that kind of games as I have never played anything like them (DOS FPS). Teaching my right hand to move like needed in those games would take serious training at my age. Not sure I have the interest when there are so many games I enjoy as is. Give my right hand a mouse or a joystick and I am skilled though.

(Did not take any offence.)

Um.. you can play SW Classic (like Duke Nukem 3D) perfectly with mouse and keyboard, just the angle of looking up or down is somewhat limited.

As for SW 2013 - you don't do any actual fencing. The Katana unlocks certain special moves during the course of the game which work like spells and require a key-combo to unleash (shown in the Upgrade/Character screen).

toxicTom:
I hate complicated key combos to pull off combos so hopefully I will not need anythig like that. All SW games recieved from mass giveaways so cannot complain too much :-) Dancing away from the enemy is fun though :-)

The music from the old game is parked on my mobile and is a favourite album and has been since it was given away.
