Well, was playing Niko: Through the Dream for the past couple of days. It's a great game, assuming you stop when the story seems to. After that the game continues and gets measurably worse. The beautiful landscapes and music seem to run out and game goes from looking like MIND: Path to Thalamus to Antichamber (only not that nice either). The puzzles go from interesting to bog standard and deeply annoying. And the frustration is compounded by the control system, which is not designed for the precision the later levels require.

I wrote a review for the game card, and really wanted to love this game. In fact I do love the first half of it. After that point I chose to wake from the dream and leave the rest undone.
Homeworld - original Relic game installed from CD. It's the oldest unfinished game in my collection (had it for about 10 years?) -- always found it frustrating and ragequit inducing. Until now, when I finally got the hang of stealing ships (thanks, Let's Play videos). That has turned the game around for me, now it's actually fun! Only a few more missions left before I finish it and can move on to Homeworld 2!

Also finishing up a replay of Knights of the Old Republic to refresh my memory of the story before I (re)play the updated KOTOR2.
Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin.

I'm liking it, but so far the game feels a bit easier than the previous games (only played a few hours of Demon Souls, but finished Dark Souls).
X-COM:Enemy Unknown

Finally picked it up. It was a free play weekend on Steam and I got hooked. Put 15 hours in and decided I had to buy it. Atleast it was on sale. Well worth full price though. What a nice treat to someone that played the original. All the frustrating moments of the old one are gone (I hear there is a classic mode that is similar to the old ways though).

I really like the skill tree aspect. Cant wait to try and experiment with all those different combos. I think this one is going to have a lot of playthroughs...
Started playing a bit of Quake. Quite fun. Good for turning my brain off. That must be some of the jankiest 3d animation I've ever seen though. Looks almost like stop-motion.

Other than that I'm having a go at the Runaway trilogy. I think I'm pretty close to completing the first one again - it's been a number of years. Haven't ever touched the sequels so that should be interesting.

XrayStyleZ: To the Moon. Really wonderful story...
It is indeed. Not much gameplay but I don't mind interactive stories when they are this well done.

I am replaying Hotline Miami atm after I Ragequit/uninstalled the second one which in comparrison is so aggregiously bad I was tempted to ask for a refund.

Its so wierd that one of my al time favorite games HLM could have one of the worst sequels.
I changed my usual approach (one "main game" and lots of smaller side games) and am playing quite a few bigger games at the moment:

Dark Souls Prepare to Die Edition - I'm not that much into "hard" games anymore (where you have to play long parts of the game again and again and again), but whenever I saw a picture of one of the awesome boss monsters I wanted to play this game. Now, after googling a bit, I've found many people saying that Dark Souls isn't THAT hard and that you just have to play a bit more defensive than in your usual Elder Scrolls RPG. Well... I took advantage of Steam's sale last weekend and got the game. I'm not too far into it yet, but up until now they're right. The game isn't too hard. You just have to keep in mind that every single enemy can kill you if you just stand there and take the blows. So keep your shield up, learn do dodge attacks (roll to a side), learn how to parry and counterattack and learn how to hit enemies quickly while they swing their weapons (wouldn't have thought that it's that complex!). If you do this, you won't die all the time. Boss fights are another thing, but the normal enemies are not that dangerous. At least that's what I'd say after 4 hours in the game.

The only negative thing so far: The game doesn't tell you a lot about its mechanics (Humanity, dying, reverse hollowing). Neither in game, nor in the manual -.- Devs shouldn't rely on gamers to create wikis. Writing a useful manual can't be that hard (and is better than wasting developmnent time for tutorial levels).

Dishonored - Not too far into the game yet (just got the gift from the Outsider), but I think I'll like this one. Finished the first part without killing anyone and it felt like a strange mix of Thief and Deus Ex :P There are even tranq darts! I think I'll stay on the 100% non-lethal stealth path. Thanks to a functional save system (auto save, quick save and manual saves), there are no "penalties" for failing.

The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing - Seems to be a pretty good ARPG, but... Hell, there's NO manual AT ALL and the ingame tutorials are... useless. They explain the self-explanatory stuff and don't tell you anything about rage, skill power ups and the combo-stuff (and how this works with two skills equipped). Can't be too hard to write a manual. Seriously. I would've uninstalled the game if it wouldn't look like a decent ARPG. I don't want to read dozens of "y u so n00b" posts on Steam just to find an explanation of the basic game mechanics -.-

GTA IV The Ballad of Gay Tony - I semi-forced myself through the main game and started the expansions now. Haven't played The Lost yet, but Gay Tony is way better than the main game! That's exactly what GTA IV should've been. Weird missions (climb up a skyscraper, shooting a couple of helicopters down with explosive shotgun shells), good characters (Tony is great and Luis showed more personality in the first hour than Niko Bellic in the whole game) and more fun (dialogues with Armando and Henrique, Yusuf Amir cutscenes).

tl;dr - If you got GTA IV Complete Pack in a sale and stopped playing it because you didn't like the main game: Install Episodes from Liberty City and play The Ballad of Gay Tony! It's far better than the main game.

Sam & Max Hit the Road - Thanks again @ZFR ;) I'm playing it on my laptop 15-20 minutes every day right before I go to bed. I simply love this Bunn... uhm... rabbit-like thing (don't say the B-word!) ;)

Grandia II - One of my favorite JRPGs. I've played it to death already on my Playstation. It still has the best battle system for JRPGs.
Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast

Still working my way through the excellent Saber Bundle GoG offered - dare I say it's better than the D&D Bundle? Probably not, but it's pretty damn good! ;)

This one is... a bit hit or miss for me. I'm pretty sure I played this on XBox but for the life of me I can barely remember any of it LOL. Bits and pieces occasionally spark a bit of "maybe" recognition but still not sure. Anyway the game isn't bad and I actually do like it but I'm not sure how much fun I'm having, if that makes sense. Maybe I've grown beyond huge sprawling levels? I like the idea of them, but sometimes in this game it feels like a bit of a slog. I'll give it another night or two for it to really grab me.

Oh and a HUGE thanks to funkmaster5000 - his thread in the Outcast subforum had me playing this game in 1080p with no issues in minutes! Gotta love when the solution is a simple change in the game's .cfg file and *BANG* glorious HD!

I remember the game had some huge levels before you got your lightsaber, and once you got your lightsaber it took a little while for your powers to grow to a point where you really felt like a badass. Once you reached that point it turned into mad fun. Force choking stormtroopers and throwing them off of great heights never got old :D
I just got a new PC, so of course the fun part of getting a new computer is not only getting to play new games your old one couldn't run, but going back to old games and cranking all the settings up so you get a better experience with stuff you already beat. So I'm replaying The Witcher, Saints Row 2, and Brutal Legend. The Witcher is a really beautiful game - it still looks very nice today - and Brutal Legend has always been a very nice-looking game even at low settings.

Saints Row 2 is a great game but graphics aren't really among its virtues. It's kind of ugly. But I'm still having fun with it.

I've also been playing Castlevania a lot lately. I'm closing in on kicking Dracula's ass, which I've never done without abusing cheats. Just a matter of learning the levels one bit at a time...

I did the same. Old PC could only handle The Witcher on low settings, and even then the opening cutscene still stuttered a little... seeing the same opening on new PC was like a vision of heaven. Finally, I understood why The Witcher's graphics are so lauded.
Mostly I'm playing RL.

But I've been dabbling with Sacred 2 - a few minor issues, but on the whole seems a good actiony ARPG. Story is forgettable, but the classes/build options are pretty fascinating.

Almost done with "Lost Lands: Dark Overlord" (HOG) and quite enjoying it.
I started playing Dead Island because of the free weekend. I've played about an hour. I don't think I'm going to play any more...

It's better this way.
