Deus Ex: Human revolution.
I think I'm going to finish it, but on the whole it's not that great imo, gameplay is kind of boring and repetitive. And the game is too long for its own good.
The original Deus Ex had quite a few flaws, but imo it's still much superior. It also had a sense of humour, while Human revolution is consistently unfunny. Also much better soundtrack in the original game. HR is more advanced in some ways like enemy AI, but then it's a much more recent game. It's strange since the designers clearly know the original Deus Ex well and took many elements from it, but somehow HR still falls considerably short of the original.
Modern mainstream gaming probably just isn't for me anymore, I should probably stick to classics from 20 years ago or to niche titles.

The Witcher 3.

This game is unbelievably huge. It dwarfs Fallout: New Vegas.

Sensenacai: The Witcher 3.

This game is unbelievably huge. It dwarfs Fallout: New Vegas.
But does it dwarf Daggerfall?
Eye of the Beholder III: Assault on Myth Drannor
And it's not THAT bad, actually some levels are quite interesting to play through, and the lore (plot) is also good. But the interface is the worst, and the way how old portraits look like is very strange. I enjoy a few music samples on MT-32 this time around instead of simple Adlib from its predecessors. The ability to attack at once is really powerful and handy. GOG version is updated with Aesop/32 engine, but a community portrait fix and sound workaround fix are must in order to enjoy the game.
But I get why so many people hate this game. All my magical stones and arrows were converted into common projectiles. Some magical spells are gone so as their respective wands, green hammer +2 is in blue color and a throwing weapon for god knows what reason, composite longbow is just a longbow, different types of boots, shields and helmets are all of the same grey common type now (no drow boots, shield and helmets) but at least shield and bracers retained their magical bonuses, my only helmet +1 and boots +1 were downgraded. The closest dungeon from starting point, Warrior's Tomb, probably turned away many players, it's insanely dump with level draining enemies on a second floor and some stupid traps (I died 5 times on one trap with my powerful imported party and on high level spells), empty rooms some of which can't be opened the normal way, and there are about 5 spawning areas which would trigger enemies to emerge out of thin air every time you step on one particular block, so bad. And Warrior's Tomb is not even necessary to visit unless you want to get your first companion and you really need a spare bag for many items you find. After Warrior's Tomb it's almost like playing good old Eye of the Beholder games if not for that ugly fonts and disgusting user interface.
witcher 3....

dem crones are hot...

Absolute Drift - I'm completely terrible at this game and crash way more than I drift. Fortunately I got this when GOG was giving it away free so I can enjoy the game and not feel like I have to actually be good at it.

Neverwinter Nights - Shadows of Undrentide - I'm playing the old Diamond edition version of this game with some visual enhancements that improves the appearance of most tile sets, all weapons, and elementals. There's some player character model improvements that I should look up and install next.
Finally played and completed Far Cry 4. Just more FC3 really, but the mountain setting was cool. These Ubisoft open world games... and modern open world checklist games in general... have way too much endless crap to do. However I stuck to the "main quest" and did the outposts and towers and not much else and it took 25 hours and didn't get too repetitive until the end. Too bad the story, missions and such don't give you a reason to keep going like a real RPG would or whatever.

Also playing Tyranny for the second time. I remember liking it more the first time, but after more CRPG renaissance games have come out it's definitely in the lower tier. Still fun though, and thankfully isn't super long.
Been on another Stardew Valley kick lately, but haven't played in a few days as I'm in the middle of winter year 2. Winter is just such a slog in that game.

Still playing:
1. Warcraft 3 Reforged
2. Diablo1 (I gave it another chance and I beat the base game on Normal. Now playing through Hellfire.)
3. Deus Ex 2-Invisible War
4. Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky FC

New since last post
1. Asura's Wrath(PS3.) I pretty much suck at it, getting mostly Bs and Cs in my ratings after each episode, but I'm still enjoying it a great deal. I'm on episode 9 right now.
Re-playing Saviors of Sapphire Wings, and just realized that the Return Home is usable during battle. (Then again, it's rare that you'd end up in a situation where you can't Flash Escape, but yet are able to cast Return Home, so the practically is limited, but maybe it's more practical with a Mirror of Return, at least if you're trying to play without saving mid-dungeon?)

One problem with the game is that it makes it hard to find battles to level up sometimes. Trap points (where you get most of your equipment from random fights) require consumable items as bait, and even the boss rush area requires (and uses up) a special item to access, which is annoying. (I'm thinking of switching to Stranger of Sword City Revisited, which doesn't have this issue, but which doesn't allow mid-dungeon saving at all, and doesn't let you respec stats the way SoSW does.)
I picked up the Jeff Minter bundle on Steam: Space Giraffe, Minotaur Arcade vol. 1, Moose Life, and Gridrunner Revolution. Classic Minter work that combines psychedelic visuals and references to classic games with barnyard animals.

Space Giraffe is sort of an evolution of Tempest 2000 that I think leans a bit too hard on trippy visuals. It feels a tad forced and it's often difficult to actually see where you are on the screen. Minter is obsessed with entrancing players but I think it works best when you lull them in gradually, making things more and more hectic one level at a time rather than going straight to "the colors, man!"

Minotaur Arcade is a VR-compatible collection of two games, Gridrunner and Goatup. Gridrunner is a jacked up remake of the original and is really good. The board changes shape and you get power-ups but it's essentially the same Centipede-like game as the original. Goatup has you controlling a goat that is climbing a rotating column while trying to avoid enemies and tripping off of platforms. Sort of like a more action-oriented take on Nebulus. Very simple but addictive.

Gridunner Revolution is Gridrunner but so psychedelic that it's hard to recognize as a sequel. It doesn't go nearly as far into imperceptible as Space Giraffe, but it might still be a bit much for some people (and I don't recommend any modern Minter games for people with epilepsy).

Moose Life is sort of Minter's take on Juno First, with the addition of the ability to hop between upper and lower planes (and it's also VR-compatible, not that I have a headset). I think it's his most recent release and between this and Polybius he seems to be on an up-swing in quality. It's quite good.
