Which games are keeping you company this weekend?

It's a bit unfair to other games that right now No Man's Sky is dominating all the online and watercooler discussions, isn't it? But there's so much stuff to talk about in there! While we're on the subject, though, what's your favorite space-themed game ever? Is it No Man's Sky? A roguelike? Perhaps a 4X strategy. Or a simulator. Whatever it is, let's talk about it!

How does your gaming weekend look, by the way? Go on, share your Weekend Playlist with us. It can include single-player games, multiplayer games, console exclusives, anything - we are not judging. In fact, we are sharing too!

Looking for some additional inspiration? The GOG.com releases of the week might help:

- You can design and ride your own Bounty Train through the unforgiving Old West.
- You can expand your Ashes of the Singularity tactics in the new maps included in the Oblivion DLC.
- You can go back to your RTS roots and let the four alien races duke it out in War Wind and War Wind II.
- You can show the Olympian gods who's boss by stomping on their arrogant heads with your angry Okhlos.
- You can venture into the heavy-metal lands of legend and shred some demons in the re-launched Slain: Back From Hell.

So, GOGasaurs, what are you playing this weekend?
Monkey Island 3: The Curse of Monkey Island.

Since GOG is still lacking this title I just bought one from eBay... :-P Now I finally own a legal copy!
Do the System Shocks count as space-themed games? If so, they win. Period.
I'm really addicted to This is the Police so will probably keep playing that. Other possibilities are to continue Dead Space which I think is great (with the in-game music off) and I'm close to finishing the Solus Project so will probably get back to playing that.
Favourite space themed game must be...I want to say...it probably is...Master of Orion 2.

And as for the weekend...I can totally see some No Man's Sky-in in there with some Hearthstone and Overwatch thrown in for good measure.

Yes, I'm on a Blizzard Binge....
This weekend I'm going to send back the damn Fokkers to Germany in Wings (Remastered) and see the end of the war. The Red Baron is starting to become really violent, but we strike back with force.
Also, I'll play a bit of DROD 4 and Vampires: the masquerade Redemption.

My favourite space game as of now is Master of Orion. I would say Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri, but that covers only one planet, so it doesn't fit the definition. I still have to try the glorious MoO2, though; they say it is fantastic.

I had never played any of those games before, but about a month and a half ago I installed it to beta test some Galaxy bits with it and ended up playing it for 3.5 hours according to Galaxy time tracking. :) Interesting game although I never fully did get the hang of it. I did get enough to want to play it again from scratch though. :)
It is a toss up for me Zombie killing in Dying light, Dark spawn killing in Dragon Age or AI killing in Ashes of the Singularity.

So much killing and not enough hours in the weekend.

You _really_ should.

I've "lost" soooo many hours to that game...super good memories!

Treat yourself to a good cup of coffee and fire it up, you'll not regret it :)
I have gotten sidetracked a bit by TES: Battlespire, after seeing somebody post on it in the Elder Scrolls subforum.

I do intend to get back to Wizardry: DIMGUIL.

GOG.com: So, GOGasaurs, what are you playing this weekend?
As guessed, No Man's Sky has been keeping me up late (or early) since launch. It does not help that I was already an obsessive-compulsive game explorer. It took me twenty hours before I was ready to leave my starting world. :-/

It's hard to pick my favorite space-themed game of all time, so I chose the three that had the greatest gaming impact on my world. 1. Wing Commander I. 2. Wing Commander Privateer. 3. Star Control II.

This leaves out SOOO many great games, such as the Elite series, the X series, the X-COM series, etc. But those three old games became obsessions and invaded my dreams. :-)
I'll probably be playing Chrono Cross to make some more progress in it, classes start next week so a lot of the weekend will be spent getting ready for that.

Favorite space themed game... How do you mean space themed? In a way it would be Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, it could be Phantasy Star IV, it could be Unreal, Quake II/IV, or Unreal Tournament. I'm leaning MP2 or PSIV.
More Polaris Sector & about to start Last Days of Old Earth.
I was always more of a swords and sorcery fan, so I haven't played an awful lot of space-themed games, but the ones that I've always remembered - even to this day - are the old Wing Commander games. WCI and WCII in particular. I loved the mechanics of those games. The career advancement and the little bits of story just added to the immersion. Other than those, I'd have to say the Space Quest games were pretty awesome, as were most of the early Sierra Online adventure games.

Edit: almost forgot to note what I'm currently playing. Right now I'm working my way through Assassin's Creed Unity - single player - getting repetitive pretty fast though. Played Stardew Valley quite a bit until its initial luster wore off - the game play just isn't good enough to support the lazy "retro" graphics, and vice versa. Going to go back to playing Witcher III in the near future and hope that the blinding lighting effects and slingshot camera tether don't bother me as much as they did before.
