2025 votes? We're well on the way there. It's good for GOG to know that the optional Galaxy is not an option that we would all like to exercise.

LOL. Why wait until then. If we reach 2020 votes in the year of 2020 or 2021 votes next year, GOG should see that as a sign to bring back the GOG Downloader .... or perhaps a less bloated version of Galaxy.

That's a noticeable number. Still, I don't think that GOG will react in any way to it. :-(

Please prove me wrong, GOG!
While I absolutely sympathize with anyone wanting to use the GOG downloader, GOG only has a limited amount of resources and developers, so I think they would prefer to focus on the client instead. I don't think this is anything more than a business/financial decision. Personally, I would much rather have GOG focus on the Galaxy client, but that's just my two cents.

Yep, especially since Galaxy now also serves as the "downloader" of offline installers, if that's all you want from it. Suggestions to improve Galaxy from those who dislike it would be ten times more persuasive.

They didn't spend any resources on the GOG Downloader, it worked fine without updates for many years.

That actually just makes it worse because it means they still have the exact same files we used to download, they just won't let us use the lightweight Downloader to download them.

People made a ton of suggestions how to improve Galaxy 2.0 - and there is a lot left to improve. Unfortunately GOG decided to not listen to them and instead focus on completely unnecessary things like i.e. the Epic integration (for which there was already a community plugin that worked fine as well).

Also, as it has been said again and again. GOG downloader did not need much support anyway since it wasn't updated anymore. We are basically talking about a running backend and some additional links and for me it does not seem top be that much workload needed at all. Unfortunately GOG never explained this so my guess is as good as anybodys and I might also be completely wrong regarding the needed workload but as long as I don't getz any additional information my stand here will and cannot change.

I think you are stating the bleeding obvious there.

But whether they do or not our voices should still be heard.

To go down quietly without a decent objection, is for the meek and mild, who put out the welcome mat for the Steamroller.
