ZFR: A mass-mark as spam script could be abused by users who hate each other or simple trolls. Threads marked as spam multiple times are automatically deleted. With a mass-mark as spam script a troll cold easily delete legit threads.
Exoanthrope: Damn, there's never a simple solution to anything...
Deleted threads are unlikely to actually be gone, just invisible; Or that's what i was taught when i worked at a software company. The logic being that hard drive space is cheap, but losing information is impossible to recover.
If i programmed the spam notification/deletion, stuff would go invisible, then the admins would glance over it and make sure it was indeed spam, as well as who marked it as spam. If someone then is abusing the system that way they would only get the false topic/person locked for up to a weekend before it could backfire.
helpo1: Yep.
I've checked every forum with replies newer than 2hrs. Everything seems to be clean.
Though, of course, I do not say I couldn't overlook something.
Was watching
LGR on jazz jackrabbit the last 30 minutes, so i missed this last bit of spam clearing... :(
