A mass-mark as spam script could be abused by users who hate each other or simple trolls. Threads marked as spam multiple times are automatically deleted. With a mass-mark as spam script a troll cold easily delete legit threads.

ZFR: I think a much simpler "if your rep is below 10 then you can create at most 1 new thread every 10 minutes" would suffice.
avatar
FearfulSymmetry: Yeah, that sounds like a good measure.
Yeah and this. I mean how many threads the average person creates? I for one, maybe once a month. I think even 1 thread per 30 min would be okay for new accounts.

Wishbone: There's a single one in the Blood forum.
There is not. :P
NWN/FO/BG looks clean.

I dread when they're spamming the wishlist. It's so hard to find and follow up. But Google finds it, and that's the sole purpose.

Damn, there's never a simple solution to anything...

Hey, I never said to give it to anyone, I just wish that the script kiddies could create one on the fly.

I already suggested some simple basic forum features to slow down spammers, and an automatic limit to consecutive threads and posts would be very useful.

Yep.

I've checked every forum with replies newer than 2hrs. Everything seems to be clean.
Though, of course, I do not say I couldn't overlook something.

Deleted threads are unlikely to actually be gone, just invisible; Or that's what i was taught when i worked at a software company. The logic being that hard drive space is cheap, but losing information is impossible to recover.

If i programmed the spam notification/deletion, stuff would go invisible, then the admins would glance over it and make sure it was indeed spam, as well as who marked it as spam. If someone then is abusing the system that way they would only get the false topic/person locked for up to a weekend before it could backfire.

Was watching LGR on jazz jackrabbit the last 30 minutes, so i missed this last bit of spam clearing... :(

Well there is but in this case I think Nuclear Weapons might be overkill.

Simple? Woah, there! I'm sure that in 2045, plutonium is available in every corner drugstore, but in 2015, it's a little hard to come by.

Nope. I say we take off and nuke the site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.

Edit: Hehe, one comment, two different movie reference replies :-D
