HypersomniacLive: I miss the Call Girls spam...
Yeah, I met my first two wives that way.

Pheace: This would be a good time for GOG to replace the forum with one that has some properly working features (like search and quoting)

Tarnicus: That the forums do not have in-built spam prevention is beyond me, and as is evidenced by this thread, this isn't the first time this has happened. Then again so many of the changes on GOG this year are also beyond me. Whoever actually gets paid to design and manage this website and forums is/are seriously lacking in technical knowledge.
To me, it almost feels like GOG is taking a multi-classer's approach to improvement and expansion, running in so many directions at once with so much on the table simultaneously that everything progresses at a crawl.
yey, we have deleted 10 pages now :-) last trace is on page 31

OldFatGuy: I'm seeing that a bunch of the ones I marked are gone now, so yeah, it must work. Just takes a little bit I guess.
It definitely works :)
Just takes ages deleting this huge amount of spam...
I'm sorry that one of my "Countrymen" is causing so much trouble! :(

Something simple, like "1 user can only create 1 thread in every 5 minutes" would be enough.
Don't be surprised if there are additional rounds of this.
Course, the upshot to that is the person losing their account, up to and including the game they felt was so important than they engaged in such brain-damaged idiocy to begin with.

Did you do it? No. Are you at fault? No. No need to take blame for something that you had nothing to do with.
Everyone makes their own choices.

We don't even know if this guy is from Turkey; we only know he listed Turkey as his location. Being Turkish doesn't make people spam internet forums, being self-centered and inconsiderate does. Nationality has nothing to do with whether a person acts obnoxious.
Well, I've done, I dunno, feels like about a hundred or more, and it does work. Sometimes, after you close the white box that pops up, it automatically redirects you back to the first page. When that happens, the thread is gone. But sometimes, it doesn't redirect you back, and when you go back to the front page, the thread remains (although if you click on it, the text of the post itself is hidden).

Gotta take a break, my damn finger's got arthritis now.... :)

OldFatGuy: I apologize for obviously being unclear. I didn't mean to imply that I liked or supported what he did. I get why he did it, but that doesn't mean I agree with it. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

If I'm not making sense, I'll try this as an explanation. Right now in my country there is much controversy over police killings of unarmed civilians and not getting charged with anything. IMO, at some point it is an inevitable as night following day that if this continues people will take the law into their own hands and start killing cops. When that happens, I totally get why it's happening, but I hope by saying I get it, and by saying it's inevitable, that doesn't mean I'm in any way, shape, or form suggesting it's okay to kill cops.

I get why this person was upset (and therefore did what s/he did), and believe if a company takes your money on a holiday, they should have customer service on a holiday. By saying that I did not mean to imply that I thought it was good judgment or the right thing to do, or that it's okay to bother unrelated bystanders.

If that doesn't clear it up, then I'm sorry, the fault is with me. I have this problem often (of not clearly explaining myself).
I think your example goes a bit further than what we were discussing here, but I understand what you mean.
Given that cleaning up this mess will most likely cost GOG staff some time, and therefore money. If this guy were in the UK, I'd recommend they at least warn him of the risk of prosecution under computer misuse laws. I'm not sure if they have equivalent in Turkey, but hopefully he can be at least given more of a warning than just having his tantrum cleaned up.
BTW I did some digging and found this guy's 2nd Grade yearbook photo.
I have a break too. ~500 topics left.
WTF happened when I was out? And why is there some entitled asshat spamming the forum with the same fucking topic for more than 3 pages?
Still clicking away, and the pile continues to shrink.
