No. I said that hateful posts like the ones I described should not be allowed. And if that in turn means that no discussion about politics remains, than so be it. And whether any remains is entirely up to the users and their ability or lack thereof to have a civil discussion.

...I don't know how this turned into a conversation about homosexuals but honestly as a bi-sexual male in a same sex relationship, I could give a fuck less if you like me, find me gross, or I scare you. I don't wear it on my sleeve and I don't care what anybody else does with their life. I'm glad to see these forums have reached peak absurdity and turn every thread they can into a toxic internet political/social debate.

Seems like everyone looks for a reason to be offended nowadays, or to be offended for others.

I was asked if this thread could be closed, so it will be.

I'm going to lock this thread - mostly because it's not been on topic a long while, and it turned into a demonstration of exactly what problems we face and have been facing on this forum. I don't want to make locking threads a habit or something that happens on a regular basis, but I'd like to ask everyone to honestly try and lead their discussions on here differently, re-think the way they conduct themselves, and think about how they could be more respectful towards others.

It seems that there's hostility going on between people/groups of people, that has been going on for ages, and I'm pretty sure we won't solve it any time soon. To those involved in this, I just have one piece of advice - sometimes ignorance is the best policy.

You're more than welcome to open another thread if you wish to continue the topic, but I won't be creating a "containment" thread for it as I don't believe those work - again, this thread only proved that the hostility will find its way into other places too.
