Grargar: No, the "best" part is this:

What will happen if I choose to opt out from the merging process?

Your account will be locked and you'll have to contact GOG.com to reenable it if you still want to participate in community discussions.
Are we serious? I'm forced to participate in CDPR;s numbers just to be able to continue being part of the GOG community?
I'm getting more and more po'd by the moment here.

Where is that stated?

It only pertains to people who have an account on the CDPR website. They have to accept the merge to GOG or they cannot post in the GOG forums. It does not effect GOG users

It's stated here, but on second thought it might refer to CDPR forum users.

It's on the merge thread in the CDPR forum. I don't suppose it effects us much as they are merging that forum with this one (god knows why considering our current troubles).
It's more you have to accept a GoG account if you want to continue posting in CDPR forums.

Still, it is a bit annoying... But maybe it means some CDPR people will come and fix our forum problems?

I very much doubt they're merging the forums. At least not yet. instead, I'd wager they're merging the forum accounts over there with the accounts system used here (the same accounts system that is used for Galaxy, and for logging in to GOG and this forum).

Good point, merging accounts is different to merging the whole forum.
So, no one noticed this thread was started in 2011???
Ancient history, people

Edit: I could be wrong- we merged when GOG was created, seems we might be merging again

I can't believe you really had that thought, especially since you're participating in that thread and have read the replies.

IMHO, it's totally disrespectful to users that prefer to use different handles and credentials across sites, not to mention he security undermining - the GOG forum credentials are the same as one's GOG account ones, GOG and CDPR seem to forget that or don't give a flying kite about it. Plus, it can even be seen as some sort of blackmail - agree or get locked out, because you once wanted to be part of two different communities.

@trentonlf, @Grargar
Thanks, I've read the other thread in the meantime, and saw that. As I said, good thing I don't have a CDPR account then. I hope it won't ever become a prerequisite to keep using GOG.
I'm still po'd though, the direction things look they're taking is unsettling.

I said that before I'd read Ciris' reply in the other thread. It was a short lived hope...

adaliabooks: I've just created a dummy test account to see if they've added captcha or anything, but no change that I can see.

Just noticed there's a HTTP / HTTPS conflict error for the avatar picture in the account though which might have something to do with the avatar issues.
Here's something interesting - the conflict persists only on the PM pages now, probably due to a mix of paths where avatar images are on (https://www.gog.com/upload/avatars/YYYY/MM/*.jpg versus https://images.gog.com/*.jpg), even though they both seem to be via a secure connection.

What a mess...
About 15 new spam-topics in Chinese (or whatever) in Fallout Sub-Forum in the last 30 minutes.

Posting this here, in the hope that some Blue can see it and remove that crap.

Thanks.

They won't, but some of the users here might.

You were correct - those posts disappeared.
However there are 32 new spam topics in Fallout sub-forum...
Fallout needs a bit of help, but the others are clean.
