At best it's a four to five years affair, with at least a Kickstarter/figstarter along the way and pretty much only Obsidian with all their faults to do the job appropriately.

Between the new GOG release and now this I am optimistic that we may see something. If so, I hope they do not screw it up. Obsidian is the only developer operating today that could do a proper followup to VtM: Bloodlines, but it sounds like Obsidian has a positive relationship with Paradox.

Maybe it is something crazy like them "finishing" Bloodlines, going through the old game and adding the sort of content the modding community can't produce. Multiple pathways that take into account non-combat character builds, more intricate ending levels, a refined stealth system, a proper inventory system, that sort of thing. One can only dream....

Now all we need is a Troika reunion (even if at another company), and an appearance by Rik Schaffer.

Since all involved parties are already working with gog my uneducated guess is that nothing will happen with the games presence here. Except the publisher tag of it might be changed from Activision to Paradox. And we might get a massive sale before the switch.

The IP changed last november or so when Paradox bought White Wolf, the previous owner of the IP.
Until then White Wolf did absolutely nothing with the IP, except sending cease and desist letters to modders (see Project Vaulderie).
Seeing this game on gog was highly probable becase Paradox bought White Wolf ... gog tried for years to get this game but White Wolf were pure imbeciles.
Yes, I know Actision still have the rights on the game itself, but probably Paradox, as the new IP holder, "persuaded" them in favor of a gog release.
So the chance that the game is removed from the gog catalogue is pretty slim, I'd say none.

Actually i think it was CCP that was in charge of those Cease and Desist orders and not White Wolf itself.
